Aspen Trail 1900RB Cabinet by Door

So have been looking at the top of cabinet by the back door. Has anyone found a use for the top of this. There is 110 power in the all. No TV connections.

Where is the TV now? That is where it goes on my Coleman. Do you have an antenna? Other than the lack of a mounting plate (find a stud) it wouldn't be hard to put one there, might take some creative fishing to get a coax back there from the antenna if you already have one, but it isn't too hard. There is a bit of "attic" space in the roof trusses.

You could put a mirror up there with LED lighting... make the trailer "appear" larger, or paint a mural. Kind of odd that they didn't utilize the space. Maybe a fish tank?

We put our Keurig and a 2.5 gallon jug of water with spigot up there when we are stopped. They both nestle into the empty kitchen sink while on the move.

I removed the top of the cabinet, put an additional 6 3/4 inch height so that it cleared the outlet and put supports in the rear corner (3/4 x 3/4) and placed the top back on. Raised the bar inside the closet so that you could hang stuff in there an not have them fold over on the bottom. I posted a finshed picture in modifications a few weeks ago, but if you are interested I can post them here for you.

Same issue for me, so I took top off and built shelves so we have an area to hang longer items and also an area for shorter items. The photo shows closet during construction before doors installed. I then made two matching doors and installed them. I don't seem to be able to post the second photo with doors on as the site seems to be limiting it.

Cabinet doors

Here are the doors, seems I can only attach one photo per post. (The panel under the closet is not in place in the photo as I had just winterized the trailer). I also built drawers under the bed for quick access to items.

Thanks. Next job is to adjust brakes, check and repack wheel bearings and inspect suspension. I note that you upgraded your shackles etc., I may have to do that before heading to SW USA.

Adjusting brakes continually is what made me upgrade to disk brakes. The wet bolt kit was a must do when I saw the crap that they put in at the factory. Check your local spring and axle shop. The place I bought my new axles and wet bolt kit, only makes axles, springs and supplies parts, so their prices weren't inflated like the RV stealership.

The wet bolt kit would be the first thing I did if I bought a new camper.

I'm surprised an Ontario boy would be going to the SW, my favorite part of the lower 48. What part of the SW are you heading to?

Heading to Texas, then NM then Arizona and finally California on the east side of the Sierra Nevada. Have 3+ months to do it.

Nice.

Make sure you hit the Carlsbad Caverns for a day or two, if you have never been there before. It is truely a sight to behold both day and night

AZ and NM are our favourite states, we could use 3 months for them alone. On your way home, if you have the time Southern Utah has lots to offer, if you like rock formations and how nature has carved them out. A few days at Moab is always on our stopover list.

If fishing is part of your trip, then along the east side of Sierras between south of the Carson City and Mammoth there are lots of places to dry camp along the river. I nice detour would be Lake Tahoe area.

Nice solution. I like the shelves, but how do you keep things from falling out while traveling?

My TV fits in that area on my CTS 16 FB, also the antenna cable and booster is in the ceiling in that area, I installed a 32" LED and DVD player there, my dining table fits under the top and a small storage area beside the strapped in table has more storage area so we put the broom, swifter duster etc in there..
