That's a bold statement.

I take that with a grain of salt... I consider an RV park to be a place where you are parked right on top of each other. I consider a campground to have a fair bit of space between units, where a camp fire isn't a major issue most of the time.

For LP tanks I use a milk crate to hold the tank. (Look on the picnic table on the left)

Well went an ordered the propane fire pit and separate propane tank. As mentioned this will give us more latitude to put the fire pit where we want it. We ordered the Outland fire bowl. More information once we use it this weekend.
Let us know how it works out.

I would prefer a wood fire but not if the sites are so close together it would bother other campers.

Did not even think about a milk grate, maybe can use one of those to hold the fire pit. ???

Fire pit came today (just love amazon prime). Easy to put in rocks. Did not use the metal ring as our bottle "stand" came in the same box. Hooked up tank checked for leaks and it lit up. Good heat also. Valve starts with high on then left turn to low. Low flame is pretty good as well. Will see what happens this weekend at the coast.

We should all put our heads together an design a multi use fire pit. One you can burn wood in, use as a gas unit, or dump charcoal in

Looking at mine, some kind of grate that could be put over the propane burner. But that would require that the rocks or artificial logs be taken out. Also in my case the wood would have to be about 15-16 in length max. 12 inch would be best.

Fire pit report. We were gone for three days. Used the fire pit a couple of times. Nice to have a little fire with no smoke. For what it is worked just like others say they do. It was chilly but not "cold" and it worked good. Not like a three piece wood fire.

The trip was very good. It is about 2 1/2 hours or so from the house. We were there with two other rigs. We went to the marina and bought 7 crabs (2 pounds each) for eight of us(friends joined us for dinner). Some of the best CRAB ever. Weather was good. cool in the mornings and evenings but nice during the day. Went to Cape Fear for lunch in Dunncans Mill. Very good chowder and lunch. Nice to goo away and relax. This is what RV'ing is all about.
