Just sharing a picture from this weekend. We spent three days camped up
Avalanche Gulch which is near Canyon Ferry, Montana. I have always been nervous towing into this gulch because there is a short section of narrow canyon at the entrance where the road is truly one-vehicle only and has several curves. It was also a busy weekend up there due to the 4th of July weekend. Ultimately the tow was no problem, except we got a flat tire on the drive in and the spot we chose was sort of forced on us! Notice the spare tire on the front driver side of the truck...
The furnace didn't work the first night and it got down into the low 40's outside at night, mid 50's in the camper. After some troubleshooting I found that a loop in the flexible gas supply hose had been pinned and kinked between the couch and the wall which cut off the gas supply. So the furnace would cycle on but then turn off when it couldn't light and remain off (safety feature I assume). After making sure this hose was no longer pinned and kinked the furnace worked fine, but the temps never dipped that low again and it only came on once during the second morning.
I'm also finding that my batteries may be due for replacement. That's fine by me, I've been looking for an excuse to replace the stock 12V marine batteries with a pair of true deep cycle 6V ones. I'd be well charged (>90% SOC I'd guess based on the state of the charge controller) by the end of the solar charging day and moderate LCD TV use would have me low by bedtime.
