Weight Report

We started out on a four month trip. Stopped at the CAT Scale near home and was shocked to see our weight. Combined was 29,900 pounds.

I got to a campground and dumped what water we had. I'm not sure how much it was. Then refilled with 40 gallons of fresh. Propane tanks are full. Gas tanks are full. We also have four golf cart batteries, solar window awnings, big satellite dish, ATV, three people and our stuff. A cat and her stuff. ETC. Then a bunch of other stuff I should not have brought. I'll know next time.

So anyway we got to another CAT Scale and we lost 600 pounds somewhere. I am not exactly sure how accurate these scales are. I would think pretty darn close. Below is a Weight Report figure with an app I have. The truck and trailer was weighed together with there own sets of axles on there own pad, then we did a re-weigh. Trailer alone on one scale and the truck axles on separate scale pads.

Everything is within the limits except the last line of the report. The gross trailer weight is 360 pounds over. The minus signs are the good numbers.

Report

TV Weight W/ Trailer Attached: 13480

So just think if you had the water tank full. Another 120 gal @ 8lbs= 960lbs

I wouldn't get too worried about being a little over on the trailer GVWR...

I bought my trailer just before the manufacture label was switched from Dutchmen to Keystone and noticed several Voltage triple axle trailers on the dealer lots afterwards with the same frame, axles, suspension, wheels & tires that had a 20,000 lb GVWR Keystone sticker in place of the 19,000 lb GVWR Dutchman sticker.

I noticed the GVWR rating change myself Not long after I bought my trailer. I am not worried about it any more.

I did PI$$ me off when I first realized it. Now, I am good with it. I just keep my weight to a "decent" number and go on down the road.

Yeah, That kinda pizzed me off too... but like you, I got over it!!!

I need to take mine to the scale, so when I go out boon docking with a full fresh tank and a garage full of stuff, I'll know which side of the GVWR I'm on?

GVWR on my 3605 is 16.5k. Axles rated at 7k each & 5th wheel pin at 4k. My tires will go 19k+ Shouldn't that mean my GVWR is really 18k.

I went across the CAT scales on my way back from Myrtle beach and was surprised at the weight, 24,520 total. Now I have the 3005 which is the small 5th wheel so it really shocked me and the lady at the truck stop with the weight. I had my golf cart and harley in the back, all the holding tanks were empty, and only about 10 gal of fuel in the generator tank. Almost no food in the camper, mainly just clothes and some kid toys.

front axle 5180
rear axle 6740
trailer 12600
combined 24520

Same v3005. Haul roughly 2,500lbs of stuff. No problems other than I see tires in my future. Since last October have logged around 16,000 miles

Total weight varies around 23,000
