Way out yonder

Has anyone driven the Trans-Labrador Highway that can offer your experience.???
We are headed way up north into northern Maine this fall and thinking of taking that roadway of wilderness and beautiful scenery. I would love to hear experiences with traveling this road and if it would be recommended pulling our Voltage.

I've never been on it... but by everything I've ever read about it, you DO NOT wanna take your RV on it.

This is a road that even off-road vehicles have trouble on. All of my reading was about guys on dual-sport and dirt bikes riding... breaking wheels, riding in deep rut-tracks, etc. It was one of the rides I'd hoped to make one day back when I had my BMW R1200GS.

"Many rental car agreements prohibit driving on the Trans Labrador Highway."

Doesn't sound to great for an RV to travel on.

I have been doing a lot of research on it and it seems that all but 60 miles are paved now. It is hoped that the last stretch will be paved this summer..

I was hoping some one would hop in with first hand info on this roadway.
