Any non petroleum based cleaner is your best bet. As far as protection a lot of people I know use the Aerospace 303 stuff with good results. Life is short mine gets washed once a year.

Works, but be careful not to let it run down the sides it will streak. Dawn is great as a wax stripper.

Hey another wetcoaster.

To wash I use Simple Green. We buy the gallon jug of the concentrate and ditule it to suit the job.

One of the secrets to washing the roof is to use lots of water and if you can have someone spray down the sides as your srubbing the roof.

I have used 303 for years on just about everything made of rubber.

I use Awesome Orange from the dollar store, its just a cheap version of simple green. I was told not to put anything on the roof so I haven't. After washing the roof I just wash the entire camper and then give it a wax, its an all day job.

Car wash, Simple Green, and a scrub brush. When dry, I wipe down, A/C, vents and especially the sealant, with 303. I don't have the luxury of a pole barn and I use it all winter in Florida, so it gets treated two times a year.

I use Meguiar's Flagship marine wash, seems to do a great job. It cuts all the nasty dirt/bugs off with ease but won't remove wax like others do. It's a bit costly compared to the more generic soaps but does a much better job.
