I have the same rig, but have never had to replace mine. But I’ve looked at them and based on having zero access to the back, I am quite sure the gasket holds the lamp in place like you are thinking.

I tried to pull them out forward but they did not want to come out and I pulled hard...it did feel like I could push them into the hole pretty easy but was scared to do that..,I checked under the bed,...,through every angle I could and did not find access...I know somebody has replaced these things?

The grommet is holding the light in like utility bed/trailer lights. You can push it through and then retrieve it after pulling out the grommet or pry it out with a pocket screwdriver or trim panel pry tool between the plastic light housing and the grommet. If it's LED, you'll be replacing the whole assembly anyway and not just the bulb. They go in a lot easier than they come out unless you just push them through.

If it's 2" diameter, I found these.

If your light is 2" diameter, this should do the trick provided it is the bulb that's bad. The light is bigger at the base than at the lens and just pops into the recessed area inside the grommet. The rubber gets stiff and can be a bit stubborn but it should pop out with a little prying between the lens and grommet.

I tried posting a link but my post isn't showing up. I found bright ones (Optronics Micro-Flex UCL50CB) but they're back ordered & I found not-so-bright ones on Amazon (Grote 60561)
