Urine Smell in toyhauler.

In our toyhauler, We are at a permanent site, Should I close the tanks and use them, and then flush them? or leave them open all the time to the sewer system? I have found that I have gotten a bad urine ordor, I flushed the tanks tonight and got some bad stuff coming out, lol, what should I be doing to keep this smell away and keep it clean smelling?

Don't leave your tanks open. Noy everything will get flushed of due to lack of water flow and you'll end up with some build up on the bottom. You should let your tank get a substantial amount in it before draining for more pressure. I use drop in packs to control odor

When we are camped long term, we leave the black tank closed and the gray tank open. When the black tank is getting near time to dump we close the grey tank and let it fill up. Then dump the black followed by the gray. I use the GeoMethod for keeping my tanks clean, I have done it for many years and have never needed any additional chemicals.

You may want to open up the basement wall and check the connection where the downpipe from your toilet enters the black water tank. We had a strong urine odor and found the threaded connector cross-threaded and at an angle - couldn't drop the tank, so sealed it up with Lexel.

Leave water in the tank after you flush it and let the San-T-Flush run for a while to help get rid of the toilet paper 'mush' in the tank - the tp will hold the smell also.
