Exclamation URGENT: Assistance with Leaking Slide

Good morning all,

I have been working with a dealership for weeks on identifying what is causing a leak on the bedroom slide of my 2016 3970. They have identified it as the main slide gasket and the slide window gasket interfering with each other causing a poor seal.

Can other 3970 owners take a look and provide pictures back of what theirs looks like. I am waiting for Dutchmen to respond back with a fix, but am trying to be informed before agreeing to a resolution.

Attached are photos of each side of mine with the slide fully extended.

What type of slide mechanism? Looks like slide is out of adjustment and not fully extending.

Hopefully the dealer checked for full extension. If the slide is extended to the fullest I think I'd be working on a way to give that unit back to the dealer and Dutchman.

I don't have a window on the side, only on the rear so no help from me.

These photos were provided to me by the dealer. Luckily it is still there. These are the new cable slides on this unit.

This has been a rough start, between this and the roof recall it has spent more time at the dealership than at my house...

I've got the side windows and cable slides on my Voltage. Slide extends past window casing. Either windows were installed in the wrong place (unlikely as it is a template), or that slide needs to come out further.

That's two votes for slide is not all the way out. I'll be sure to stress that with the dealer. I just dont want to end up with a shortcut fix that isn't actually address the real problem.

I bet a dollar or two Keystone did not update/redesign the slide window locations when going from Schwintek to cable. Because the Schwintek system allows for full slide deployment, the motors for the cables are above the slide and don't allow as much slide extension...

Could they really have been that ignorant? Seems like a big thing to overlook when they switched...

Yes they can. I seem to remember a post or two discussing cabinet doors that wouldn't fully open due to the slide not fully extending due to cables vice Schwintek. Cannot remember the floor plan...maybe 3970 or 3990??

Hang around long enough and you'll see that ignorance is bliss, just not our bliss.

I definitely have cabinet doors in my LR slide that can't fully open due to slide...

Yes. They overlook a helluva lot more than you would think they could.

MX thanks. The main difference appears to be the visible gap on yours between the window gasket and the wall gasket. I'm gonna call the dealer when the open and have em check the slide adjustment.

According to the dealership, there is not additional room for the slide to be extended out further. This could be turning interesting...

I would bet you have a leak in hard rain too. Next time you can check the carpet on the floor at the bottom corner of each slide exit.

I sure hope Dutchman didn't create yet another major problem when they went with the cable slide and those side windows.

Not that I will spend any money in the future on their products.
