Stinky 2nd bathroom

we have never had a bathroom smell but this one is horrible!!! Wondering if the bathroom sink dumps directly into the black tank and the fumes are venting thru the sink?

Even if it (which it shouldn't) did you have a trap under the sink that "should" be full of water. If not, then it could stink, but the plumbing is all wrong. Is this a camper you've had a while, or a recent purchase?

Gray tanks can smell pretty bad as well, if the camper hasn't been maintained.

Stinky 2nd bathroom

A lot of times I'll reach the campground after a long drive to find an odor in the trailer. Usually the water sloshes out of the p traps for the sinks allowing fumes from the gray tank to escape. The quick fix is to run some fresh water down the drain and let the trailer air out.

I did have a reoccurring issue with the smell and found it was coming from the washer drain in the pantry that just had a plastic slip cap. I got rid of that smell after I glued down a PVC cap.

If you think the smell is from the black tank, then perhaps you need to re seat the toilet. If you pull it up you'll find a rubber seal similar to the wax ring on a residential toilet.

Sounds like someone may have built a brown pyramid. If that is the case, it's a crappy job (pun intended) to clean it out. I've seen a couple of cases where the tank was replaced because of it.

Check the vent, a couple of things can happen. The stack may be plugged or as happened in a couple of other cases, the pipe may not be glued and has seperated.

The 2nd bathroom on a lot of toy haulers only have 1 tank for the sink and toilet. If you think your sink trap is sloshing out during travel, try putting the stopper in the sink drain before travel.

What roads are you going on that would drain a trap?

I am on my phone, but not sure of which model you have. I have a Voltage 3950 and my half bath stinks because my son has peed all over the toilet. I had to take it out and clean the back of the toilet where the hole is, it had trapped a lot of urine. Also on my model, the rear toilet is on its own black tank, sink feeds to the kitchen grey tank...

Thanks for the info on the grey. I thought maybe it went directly into the black therefore maybe venting thru the sink. My solution is to have another vodka cranberry and not go in there. Yes, I am afraid

Another thought, this discussion has made me think....I am not sure I have seen a vent on the roof for the back bath. I am curious if the vent is in the wall behind the toilet??

I can think of a whole host of reasons why the rear bath stinks. My guess is that you may have a bad toilet seal or there is an incomplete or broken tank vent.

I am not familiar with the plumbing on your trailer to be able to hazard a guess as to what drains where. But you only have two tank and two vent connections(maybe)... it ain't rocket science!

The 3950 has 5 holding tanks. One fresh, two black, and two grey.

The kitchen grey actually has two vents, one under the island (back left) and one in the pantry (feeding into the washer drain line).

I know the front bath vents to the roof, as I have had it full enough to hear it through the bathroom can vent when flushing.

I am scratching my head now, as I cannot visualize the shower grey on the roof.

Then there is the act black...

I suspect you're one who possesses a fine camper-attitude.

Our 2013 3950 had the same problem. Turns out ours was the washing machine drain that had been covered up to make a pantry area. It was the grey tank =kitchen and rear bath sink. If you suspect the rear black tank (It has it's own drain connection at the rear of the rig) hook up to the rear sani flush connection, turn on the hose, close the drain for 5 minutes or so and then open the drain and flush the tank. We had to do this several times to clean ours out. The tank has a roof vent so there's no risk of rupturing the tank. Also I assume you know there are 3 valve pull locations. One in the main water connection (Front toilet & Shower) one near the front of the tires (kitchen and rear bath sink), and one behind the rear tires (rear toilet). good luck!
