Sold my beloved 3950

Getting close to retiring and posted my 2014 Voltage on Craigslist and sold in a couple of weeks. Had some strange calls and met some interesting people, but the right one came around and appreciated the extras. Not sure what I am going to do with my F-350 DRW, thought about trading on a new F-150 KR, but they want more for the new F-150's than what I paid for my 2013 with the 11,000 discount. I guess I will keep it with only 14,000 miles. I refuse to give up my truck and another 12,000 for the F-150. Besides by the time I put the transfer fuel tank/toolbx I would end up with a 3.5' bed.
I can honestly say the only problem I had with the Voltage was the wires reversed on the level up.
With the last child getting ready to turn 18, we are now shopping motorhomes.

Thanks to everyone for their help, and sharing of knowledge. I will still keep my membership and help anyone.

Strange thing when we unpacked the Voltage just how much stuff we were carrying and the additional weight.

And Lastly I will be glad not to pull in a muddy RZR into our clean garage and hear DW sigh, but a few weeks before I sold mine I saw someone put down a painters tarp, then drive up dirty Rzr great idea! Just unload the RZR pull out tarp, shake off and keep the garage clean.

See you around
David

Are you just looking to downsize on campers, or giving up camping? Seems odd to get rid of a sweet 5th wheel so close to retirement.

Going to miss your posts and knowledge. I have been through all the RVs over the years and have settled on the toy hauler. I hope you find that you like the motorhome....I just couldn't quite appreciate it. Good luck and happy trails.

We did the reverse...we had motorhomes for 10 years and now have the Voltage. We got tired of always dragging a toad around and having the extra maintenance on the motor home engine and transmission as well as the toad.

Get of luck with the coach!

Trailers, 5th wheels are definitely less maintenence. Ive had motorhomes and buses for the better part of 20 years and know for a fact. I do miss my Blue Bird but not the upkeep and what it cost to get it down the road... 260 gallons of fuel @7 mpg, series 60 Detroit maintenance, michelin 315 tires, 8 huge Decca house batteries.. you get the picture. Good luck... btw, a Newmar is a fine motorhome!

I'm not a MH person. Friends from our church group have a very nice Tiffin Phaeton. Way out of my price range even if I was a MH guy.

We're also looking at motorhomes and Newmar has really gotten our attention; really like the Mountain Aire. Motorhomes just seem to be better built and more attention to quality than our trailers. I've also noticed better insulation, which is important here in the desert.

Newmar is a nice rig and we were really thought that is the way we would go later in life until we walked a Winnebago Grand Tour, nice unit and more in the real worlds price range. The features were top notch, if we did not love our TH with the garage and the deck for the races I would probably own one now.

Ok,

We have purchased our close to retirement MH, it will pull our 14' trailer with rzr or our jeep willys depending on what type of camping we will be doing.

For the price they ask they should be.
I can say that my 03 Teton interior & build matched motorhomes back in 03. That maybe why they are no longer built.
