Schwintek to powergear

I have a 2013 3905 and just had my main slide skip teeth and eat up the tracks on my schwintek system. Has anybody had their main slide schwintek converted to the powergear slim rack system with the floating rails. I’ve been reading that Winnebago was converting their faulty schwintek full wall slides with this newer system but habent seen anything about a Dutchmen doing it. I don’t want to be rebuilding this thing every couple years.

I know the right people. Power gear was bought by Lippert. I will research this and get back to you. Also, check your floors on you slide to see if they are swollen. That will tear up the rack on a Schwintek for sure.

I just discovered this morning that one end of the floor in the big slide is on the floor most of the length of the slide.
One end that is off the floor will start to extend but the other end moves an inch and stops.

On the outside the top of the slide is tight whereas the bottom is out from the body a little.

I think maybe it's the carrier gear down there that is causing the problem but since I get get any extension I'm pretty much screwed at the moment.

Sounds great thank you. My slides floors are sealed and dry. I think the slide/ opening is not perfectly square but I’m not exactly sure what happened

Interested in this as well. I have a 3200 and my large slide will only move if I push assist it to get it going in or out. So far this method has been working. I am hesitant to spend a bunch of money on a flawed system

Found out that you can replace them with the Slim Rack. Only issue is that the rough opening of the slide out hole has to be 1" larger than the box. Schwintek systems are only supposed to be .5" lager than the the box. Good thing is that older Voltage units were built incorrectly with too large of openings so you should be in luck! Probably would need to work with Lippert on what and hmmm how to build the mechanism you would need.

Thanks! That gives me some hope. I’ll be on the hunt to find somebody on the west coast that will take it on now

I have also spoken to Norco and they said that a cable mechanism is available. Only issue with that is the holes from the racks on the end wall of the rooms.
