Replacement ladder?

The RV ghost reached out and grabbed my ladder this past weekend. Have not idea of when but it got bent. I can live with it but probably would rather replace. Anyone know of an online dealer where I can order one or a dealer within 150 miles of Austin Texas area that might sell them?

Welcome to Retractable Ladder Not sure of the cost but this is soemthing I would look at. When I had my TH I took the ladder off and bought a telescoping ladder which I carreid. It worked well, but was going to look into ths one but got a motor home instead. Sounds like an even trade doesn't it.

I am going to start shopping for a telescopic ladder for roof access ,tree trimming, cleaning and easy storage in transit .The facorty side mount roof ladder is no longer going to travel with me .Comercial grade contractors style should have many other uses also, with out taking up so much room. Will try to post what I find soon.Anyone have any suggestions on what there recommend telescopic ladder would be?

Get a tall one. I went with a 12-1/2 foot one. It serves the purpose but I do wished I'd gone taller. They can be on the pricey side, but they are definitely worth it. Oh and get this - last fall ACE Hardware in Richmond actually had some on the floor in the store. Haven't been in there in quite a while though...

My factory ladder is on the rafters in the garage. It's been there since the Voltage came home 3 years ago. I have one of the 15' telescoping ladders I keep onboard now.

I removed my ladder completely, and bought an 8-foot A-frame ladder that I bring with me in the garage.

When I place the ramp in patio mode, putting the ladder on it allows me to get on the roof... but since it's an A-frame, I can also place it anywhere I need it for washing the rig, or doing service on the awnings, etc..

I wanna make up some type of hanger bracket to carry it underneath the garage in transit... Just haven't figured out the details yet.

as far as ladder sturdiness goes, the factory installed units are definitely not for us 200lbs+ guys, however I saw the 2015 voltage comes with a ladder on the side that has brackets that allows it fold up and tuck nice and snug with the side wall of the trailer. I'm really thinking about talking to the parts department at the dealer and getting one ordered up in black. That sore thumb silver looks out of place on a black and white trailer. jm2c

I've just hooked mine in place on the side of the Voltage Epic 3800...and there it is.

If the law pulls me over...the dealer mounted in there and I didn't know it would come off...so far so good!!

Yeah, I saw that too. Pretty slick... but as you say, still not sure how well it would do for us 'big guys'. That's why I went with a Greenbull A-frame type... rated to 500 lbs.

In re keeping the old ladder in place during transit... I used to do that. Then one day while riding thru a very narrow construction zone, the bottom of it caught one of the traffic cones. You wouldn't think those cones would put up much resistance, but it tore the lower mounts right out of the side of the rig, and bent the lower half of the ladder a good 30-degrees back.

It was a pretty easy repair... just used larger screws to reattach the lower mounting points, and bent the flimsy ladder back into place. Just saying they do tend to catch road objects if you aren't careful.

So what did you decide to do? I was at the dealer the other day and the Cyclone Toy Hauler had one of the collapsible side ladders. Dealer said the mounts wouldn't match up with the Voltage and would have to be reinforced at a pretty penny.

Mine rides on the side. Never had an issue but I'm extra careful going through toll gates!

Guys I had a collapsible one on my old 5th wheel (Fuzion) and was coming back from Canada, going thru the ICE check point, I wouldn't have made it with our Voltage Ladder, if I left it on, I like the Collapsible one, but the cost to change, isn't on my list of add on right now, so I carry the Little giant, and it works great for now....That BS ladder that they gave us, Its taking up space in my back yard

I used conduit holders and mounted mine under the garage.

If you are looking for a telescoping ladder, I would not buy anything but the Xtend & climb. I get these for our Team and we use them daily. I have seen others fold in half while someone was on them. I have yet see an Xtend & Climb fail. Here is a link to a 15.5' ladder, I know some say they would like something longer than a 12'. We only have 2 15' being used, I have not been on a 15' yet but the 12' is what I carry on my rig. You can usually find the 12' for about $200.
