Roof Ladder On 3600 ???

Where do you haul your roof ladder when the garage is full of bikes ? I am apprehensive about leaving it on when traveling down the road.
Thanks a lot,
SR

Thanks, but aren't you concerned it could get caught on something and cause some damage.
I guess I just need to be extra careful.
Thanks again

I'm not sure how long the 3600 is but mine is 44 feet. I have to be extra careful all the time. My mirrors stick out further than the ladder.

I have the 3200 and leave the ladder on all the time also.. You lose about 8 inches clearance is all on the one side. Be careful is all.

You could spend a couple hundred dollars and get one of those ladders that folds up against the unit like the new ones.

I used to leave it on, until I hit a cone in a construction zone, in the dark. Shipping a new ladder cost as much as the ladder. I put the ladder diagonally across the top of the cargo in the garage. Top end rests on trunk of motorcycle with a pad under it, and bungee cords holding in place. Other end rests on top of bicycle handlebars with a piece of cardboard between, and bungee cords holding in place. We’ve driven NJ to FL and back many times without any issues like that.

I left the ladder home when we went to Maine last year. Only there for 2 weeks. Didn’t need it, and worst case, I could use my folding ladder with the ramp on the cables, or borrow a ladder from the Campground. I need it when we’re in FL for 7 weeks as I have to clear the roof from what the live oak tress drop on it periodically. Gutters always get clogged, and occasional branch that falls on it.

Now that I have RV FlexArmour roof, need to go up and check caulking is history.

Can I ask what the RV Armor cost you?

It was $160/foot. My Voltage V 3105 is just shy of 38’, but that includes the cap, which doesn’t have roofing material. From a few inches overlap on the cap, to over the back edge was 34.5’, $5,520. Plus a $100 to replace the wood in 2 soft spots, and $125 for a new shower skylight, for $5,745, Plus FL sales tax. Work was done at a Green Cove Springs, FL location. Local NJ dealer ballparked $7K+ for replacement membrane roof, and I’m sure his roof repair cost would have been way more than $100. Not to mention I have a lifetime guarantee, no caulking to maintain, and no chalking. They did a great job, removed evertything from the room before spraying, and covered over the cap, back over the rear edge above the ramp door, and over the vinyl trim along the sides to the top edge of the gutter. It went in on Monday morning, and was ready as promised by 2 PM on Wednesday.

I’m very happy with the product and workmanship. If you’re anywhere near Green Cove Spring, FL, I recommend you stop by and see David & Jennifer, the owners. They are the ones who franchise the other locations. They are very nice, will explain the process, answer all your questions, and can show you what gets done, and how it looks.

My ladder stays mounted on the side of the trailer. No issues in almost 4 years.
