You might try and call around to local heating, plumbing, or pipe fitting companies. They might sell you specific length of the csst. Just a thought.

Finally finished a gas manifold. Put a shutoff valve for the house tanks and a shutoff valve for external service. The two last lines to go on are the original service line and the line I am sending all the way to the garage for the dryer.

Hopefully will be finished next week.

Rich,

You read my mind... I will enter into the garage with a "T" fitting, then have a shutoff valve off each of the two branches...one for the dryer and one for A catalytic heater. I am planning on mounting it on the side of the dryer, it will be up off the floor and I can put away after the winter season.

One thing I caught myself making a mistake...I was going to drop the belly and run the line inside the belly to keep it from being exposed. After thinking about it for a while, I decided against that route, as I don't think it would be wise, especially if a leak occurred, I would be sitting in a trailer that has a belly full of propane waiting to blow up. I will be running this exterior to the belly.

Maybe inside a run of PVC for protection from road debris?

Shouldn't really need too. All of my Airstreams had copper lines run on the under side of the belly pans. They ride pretty low and I never had a problem with the LP lines on them. Other less expensive trailers had the black iron pipe run along the undersides of the frames, no belly pans on those.

Dryer installed!

Spent yesterday finishing up getting propane to the garage and the dryer up and running.

Using the manifold I showed earlier, I ran a 40ft hose along the bottom and crossed above the spare tire.

I drilled a hole through the garage floor near the rear leveling jack on the port side and brought the hose in there...anchored another manifold to the wall and filled in with expanding foam.

Also had to drill a 4 inch hole through the sidewall for the dryer vent. Has turned out well. Also mounted a CO detector and will get a propane detector today.

Power for the dryer comes from a socket I mounted last year to give us power in the event we are at a 30 amp sight...with this setup, I will be able to do laundry wherever we are...

Cale, great job on the gas line, but I noticed you blocked the bathroom, No room on the other side, I forgot which model RV you have, I have room for our Washer/Dryer on the right side and it don't block any of the doors and we still have room for the ATV

Yep, we blocked the bathroom entrance from the garage. This had been a few months in the making, so we had actually tracked our use of that door, sometimes only once per week...

On the other side of the garage, we have a TV cabinet and door access to the dorm fridge. During a trip ,sat year, the fridge defrosted faster than expected and water leaked onto the particle board turn table, and it has not been moved since, so we blocked that access with the washer. I removed the TV and cut the bottom half of the cabinet off for the washer to slide in...cut a hole through the wall and fed the lines to the already installed washer connections.

We had kicked around stacking the units on the right side, but I did not know what to do with the mess of wires where the sub and radio are located (Top of TV cabinet), didn't want nearly 400 pounds on just one side, and there was only 1/4 inch of space between the units stacked and the ceiling (bottom of loft).

We still have 9 ft of garage, should be plenty of room when we decide to get a golf cart or motorcycle (which can be parked between washer/dryer).

Copy Cale, I forgot that some units have the fridge on a turn table on the right side. We use the rear Bath Room with the grandkids and other guest, so that's why I asked....Nice Job, going to add a gas line to my garage for a heater

Off that hose I ran for the propane, I put two outlets and two shutoff valves. I plan on having a heater in the garage this winter...space heater cost me a chunk of money this past winter.

I wished I had my toys again...sold the Ultra Classic to get the truck...natural progression for the wife was bigger truck, need a bigger RV....that is how we got the Voltage.

Interesting fact on the dryer. The exhaust temps are nowhere near where I thought they would be, they are actually lower than an electric dryer. A buddy with a Cyclone is running a dryer on 220V, I believe he pulled from each leg of his power, just ran another circuit to the dryer (cannot use dryer on 30 amp), his exhaust temps are a good bit higher than mine. When I did this, I sat down at the park laundry room with my IR thermometer (like a crazy person) and took temp readings, they were high, but I attribute that to inefficient dryers and 6 of them on the trunk line. I had originally planned on putting a 12x12 steel sheet between the vent and wall, but opted not to once I measured these temps.

Question is why don't they make propane dryers for RVs? Only 10 amp power draw, only 20k BTU usage, and insanely efficient.

Cale, I wish I had some info to give, I want to add a gas line to the garage for a heater, but we use a Washer/Dryer Comb...

Cale,

I take it that the dryer is natural gas, that hasn't had a propane conversion kit installed.

If the dryer manufacturer doesn't have a kit specific to the dryer, take the specs to a propane dealer, or a BBQ store, they should be able to get the jet size you need to run it on propane.

I was referring to RV dryers in general. They are either ventless or vented and run a single leg if 110v, very inefficient.

The dryer I installed was natural gas. I changed the orifice to accommodate propane, I'm good to go.
