Oven or more storage?

Hi,

We are down to the final option choices on our 3800 and wanted feed back on oven or storage? Those of you with the convection oven...do you wish you had the regular oven? Any feedback I'd appreciated.

The convection oven is the microwave too. By not having either you won't gain storage.

I (Nana) would opt for the conventional oven vs. convection oven!

Used the convection oven a few times last fall and was not overly impressed with it!

After about 6 years of RVing around 5 months per year, we have yet to use our conventional oven. We have a toaster oven which we use a lot and, of course, the microwave and a gas barbeque. However, one thing to remember is that if you have the conventional oven, you can use it for storage of various cookware (or other stuff) if not in use. So, if in doubt, order the conventional oven. Also important to remember is that the conventional oven is gas so you can cook even if 'off the grid'.

We opted for a conventional oven. The microwave is a convection also. No self respecting southerner would eat corn bread or homemade biscuits from a microwave. hahaha really when were not using the oven we use it to store our bread or buns etc. It keeps them from being smashed. We also use the microwave for extra storage of bread, cookies, chips or other fragile things we dont want crushed. In reality we really dont lose any storage space with the oven.

I want both. I use both for storage. Microwave to store bread. Conventional oven to store my cast iron. cook with both.

Went from conventional and standard Micowave, to Micro/Convection unit and no conventional and now conventional and mico/convection....
When we had both we never used the conventional.
At first the micro/convection unit was great - got used all the time. Then the more we used it, we found more occasions we would have used the conventional if we had one.
Thus it became a requirment when we got the new unit to have both.
I wouldn't buy another without both units - both have their purposes. We had become much more efficient using the convection part, but still some things just dont cook the same.
We do also use both for storage when they are not being used.
For reference we use our unit on a frequent basis - average 3 of 4 weekends a months and 6x-8x per year for 5 or more days.

I had a gas oven in my Toyota Dolphin. It took a little getting used to since it was smaller and pans were closer to the flame, but things turned out great!

Have a microwave/convection oven in the Rubicon. I haven't used it a lot yet, so I'm still on a learning curve, but my cornbread is only supposed to take 25 minutes ... at 60 minutes the center was still gooey.

Haven't tried baking beans yet.
