Nitto Dura Grappper

I have a Nitto sponsorship with my event production company and get an allotment of tires each year. They offer the Dura Grappler in 235/85R16 with a load rating of 3042 lbs. I know these have to be better than the stock chinese tires.

Anyone have experience with this tire?

Those tires have a pretty soft rubber compound don't they, that's going to make them pretty squirmy.

Better that the "stock" Chinese tires, maybe, but I have been running a Chinese made ST tire for 3 years. they are a LR G (14 ply) max load is 4080#. My first set had 25K miles before a broken shackle wore the other 25K off them some where in the last 250 miles coming home from Alaska last year.

I just picked up my second set on Monday.

Load rating is too low if running 7,000 lb. axles like the Voltage is rated at.

I used Nitto Dura Grapplers on my 3/4 ton Duramax...good tire, good price, quiet/comfortable ride. I am not sure I would use them on a trailer, especially if it is a triple axle...the twisting may tear the tire apart.

Used them on the old 2008 Ram 2500 too. They had a load rating of 3,750 lbs in the 17 inch size. Smooth ride for the truck and I was very happy with them. The soft sidewall soaked up road bumps pretty good, but perhaps too soft for trailer use.
