Need to identify tanks.

Hello, I purchased a 2012 Voltage Epic toyhauler and fixing little things here and there. However, there is one thing I can't find is the labels for the dump tanks. Mine has black tank on the left but every pictures I've seen (not a 2012) has the black tank on the right and grey on the left. No manual with picture either. Can anyone send a picture with the correct labels?

Now, if you mean for the dump handles in the wet bay... I've replaced my handle-valves with electric, but the black was & still is on the left side, with the grey on the right:



As for your 2'nd grey tank handle, you'll probably find it located on the chassis itself, left (street) side, somewhere back near the wheels. Here are photos showing where it is on my 3200:

I see, thank you for that. I don't have any 't' handles under the chassis other than the fresh water dump. Just the two 't' handles in the utility docking station.

BTW, and not trying to be picky, or snarky... but just for your general education. "Epic" is not a Voltage model. "Epic" was an options package added to a Voltage model.



In order for us to help you better, always post the model number... such as Voltage 3200, or 3600, 3795, etc. Then someone with the same model number (and floorplan) can assist you better.

2012 3200, I have a brochure also but pictures are small and hard to tell what's what. I still need to figure out the keyless entry. Don't know the manufacturer of that yet either.

Should be RV-Lock… their first generation products. I’ve upgraded all of mine to include the locks for the garage entry door, cargo (basement), and exterior TV doors too… all keyed alike.

More info: The bottom of the 5th wheel is sealed so I can't just look for tanks. I have two 't' handles in the fresh water/shower area to dump. I just want to ID which handle does what - which is grey, which is black.

Ok, if you don’t wanna believe the pictures I posted for you, and if you’re reasonably sure the tanks are empty now… run a simple test:

Turn the shower on, and let it run for about 30 minutes to put a decent amount of water in the grey tank. Then turn off the shower, and… with your sewer hose connected to the rig & a dump… pull the handle you think is the grey.

If you immediately begin to smell sh#t, you’ll know that the black tank wasn’t empty after all, and you’ll have your answer.

On the other hand… if you hear & see a substantial amount of water immediately rushing thru the sewer hose, and it doesn’t stink… well, then you’ll know that’s the grey.

Oh, we’re good… I didn’t take it as being rude. But it can’t be that different from yours, except that my handles are replaced with electric switches… and I added the 2nd grey tank switch on the bottom right. Other than that, the layout in the wet bay should be the same.

You say you have a 2012 Voltage 3200… I know I have a 2013 Voltage 3200. Same model, same floor plan, only a year apart. There were no design changes between years.

Can you post a photo of yours?

Also, you previously said you only have 2 tanks… and that there’s no other pull-handle on the chassis. I’m not trying to be an ass here, I’m trying to help… but if you truly have a Voltage 3200, then you’ve GOT to have that 2nd grey tank back there, along with its dump handle somewhere. The only way it can’t be there is if the previous owner removed it. That 2nd grey tank is the one your kitchen sink drains to, along with the washer/dryer drains in the garage. If you use your sink a decent amount, after about a week or so that tank's gonna fill... and if it isn't dumped, then you're gonna develop leaks in your kitchen cabinets thru the vent pipe as it overflows.

Anyway, good luck with figuring it all out.

Ok... my final post on the subject:

I went thru my files and found another photo of my wet bay. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one prior to 2017 when I had my electric valves installed.

The first photo is the original, and the 2nd is the same photo... only with the electrical cord roller cropped out, enlarged, and annotated with colored boxes around the electrical switches. (red, green, and yellow)

Other than the fact that I no longer have pull-handles for the dump valves, and the 2 added electric switches on the left & right bottom... my wet bay looks exactly the same as yours.
(the black box covering the blue winterizing valve is simply a power box for a DirecTV antenna)





The red box is around the place where the pull-handle for the BLACK TANK used to be... now replaced by an electric switch.

The green box is around the place where the pull-handle for the forward GREY TANK used to be... now replaced by an electric switch.

The 2 electric switches at the bottom inside the Yellow box were added in a blank space where there was nothing. The one on the left controls my fresh water tank dump switch... the one on the right controls an added electric valve on the rear grey tank.

So that's all I got. I'm not disputing you, but I don't know what "... every picture I've seen the toilet (black) is on the right side." photos you've seen. Maybe they were different model Voltage rigs... I don't know. But I'm not the only 3200 owner on this forum, and maybe someone else will chip in. But I'd bet that your black tank handle IS the one on the left.

I have an idea. Flush the toilet several times. Open the valves one at a time. Whichever one works is the black tank.
