major slide issues

Bought our 2013 Voltage 3990 a little over a year ago. Got 50 miles off the lot with it and opened main slide & would not close, had to have motor replaced. We have only been able to use it 3 times since we bought it. The rest of the time its been in the shop. Left home yesterday stopped for the night, went to put out the main slide, got half way out and stopped. Couldn't get it in or out. Finally was able to get our hands between the slide to get to the door where the override switch is & was able to push it in. Now here we are going on vacation & can't use toy hauler cause we can't move slide! Have had it with Dutchmen! Every time we use this toy hauler there are isuues with slides. Camping isn't fun, just aggravating! And too top it off generator quit 3 times during the night! Dutchmen needs to do something with these slides. Guess its time to take legal action!

Exactly... get an attorney involved!!

You purchased something that can't be used as advertised, so get them to refund your money... or repair as necessary and compensate you for loss of use & your frustration.

I have had the same issues with my 3605. Have had motors replaced 3 times. I found on another thread after fully extending or retracting slide to hold the slide button in 10 seconds even after movement has stopped. This allows the schwintec system to re zero. I have been doing this since the last time I got back from dealer. When I got the unit back it would still not come in correctly. I used the override on the module to bring in. And held for 10 seconds. After approx 7 seconds I could hear the motor re set to zero point. Since I have been doing this proceedure I have not had any more issues. Good luck.

My question would be where is the over ride? I recently took my voltage 3305 in because when I used the slide out only the right side would come out 3 inches and the left only did 1 inch then the slide out would freeze. Luckily I got it back in and took it to the dealer. I ask the dealer if I'm camping and it won't come out or in how do I manuall over ride it and she respond by saying. "You'll have to pay for tech time if you want to know". So any info would be great

My control module is in the front under storage compartment. There is a button that you will push 6x and on the 7th hold until lights start flashing. Once lights are flashing go to your slide button and extend out fully, once fully extended continue to hold button 10 secs. Repeat coming in. It should then be re calibrated. Then use your slides as normal but always hold approx 10 seconds after movement has stopped in any direction.

Check on youtube for Schwintec slide systems. Various videos to show you how to do the override function.

If you have a mechanical problem with your slides the over ride won't help, five friends might be able to get it back in for you.

Your dealer is a Richard for saying that to you. I'd be on her ass for the smallest of problems, a loose screw would have my rig on her lot.

Thank you

Thank you for your response. I would love to kick my dealer Richard where the sun don't shine but I bought my rig in Utah and I now live in Los angeles. Well when I go pick up my rig this week I will look for that override. My slide out is a touch screen and none of the videos on YouTube. Thank you all once again

Even with the touch screen transmitter there still should be the receiver/ controller somewhere. Mine is in the basement on the ceiling so you have to be on your back to push the buttons.

The over ride function is a process of the controller and the receiver function is for lights and awnings and slides, two different critters. Something like these guys.

I have a wireless module too but didn't (like a lot of us) get the remote for it. Some have the touch screen and some have a remote and some of us have an empty hand.

bigcnrty13 is spot on with the process to get the receiver/contoller in the over ride mode.

My slides were out of time because I did not open and close them completely. That was my diagnosis. The dealer that I called had no idea! I used the manual override and re-timing info here http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...c+Slide+System
I now hold the button for several seconds after the slide stops and always open or close the slide completely...no more stuck slides.

Just spoke with a Dutchman rep. He stated going all cable now away from the Schwintec, the 2015 3605 toy hauler I pick up Friday is all cable slide.

Slide issues

I was having these slide issues. Slow or weak to go in or out. Had to help/push them in or out. The dealer called today and told me the floors in the living room and bedroom slides are rotted. Said Dutchman was aware of a problem because several others had this problem with my year and year after. Mine is a Voltage V3950, 2013. Not a happy camper right now!

Slide issues

We filed lemon law on our 2014 3990. Ended up getting a new 2016 3990, with cable slides.

Are slides on the New Dutchman still a problem? You have me nervous now.

Mike, I believe the major slides on new models are cable and not Schwintec except for some small bedroom slides. I have a new Triton 3451 and it only has one slide in the living room. It's a cable slide.

What state are you in? Did you file against the dealer or the manufacturer? I wonder if I can file under the lemon law if I am the second owner. The camper was one year old when we bought it. It is three years old now. I went to the dealer over the weekend and saw that the floors are indeed rotted. We are pretty much in shock. $8,500 to repair.....

They live in Texas, which has a great RV lemon law, unlike Florida's which EXCLUDES anything dealing with the "living quarters" of the RV.
