Love my 3895
I have been living in my 3895 for about 5 weeks now and I love it. So far everything has been good except for the low level of the hydraulic fluid when I got to my first stop. I am almost scared to post this for fear that I am "speaking too soon" lol.
I have a lot of ideas about things I would like to modify to make it more livable for me and I will have fun working on them.
I want to put a desk and some other furniture in the cargo area. How should I secure furniture to the floor or wall so it won't move in transit. I am not talking about anything really heavy like the tool chest ATCGuy installed. I need specifics about the hardware to use including the length of screws if used.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or help offered.

We sold our house to downsize, now that all the girls are gone, and close at the end of the month. It will take 6 months for DW to build us a new one and we are going to live in our Voltage during the transition.
I hope I don't spoil my dream of full timing to travel the country when I retire. We shall see?
Love my 3895 too!!!

Good for all of you that love your big ass trailers.
I hate my 3905.
It is way more trailer than two people need. And it doesn't fit where I want to take it.
Will be selling it at a silly low price soon.
And I have more accessories than any sane person should have added.

So your 3895 doesn't have the Happijac beds, benches and table that you can use in the garage?
If you want to go to something different, I would put legs on it like an RV table and put the inserts in the floor. That way the furniture is secure just like the dinette table in an RV and won't move.
If you can find the wall framing in the garage, then you have something solid to bolt to the wall. Other than that, the wall sheeting is too thin for anchors and will pull out or pull the sheeting away from the framing.
Just thoughts,
Pirate

Oh come on now Arlan, you hate your Voltage that much?
We really like our 3800 for its interior layout. Really set up for just the two of us.
Yes it can be a PITA in some places. But I'm learning to work with it and find most of the "backing up" issues are due to not coming to grips with where the axles are located, and how that impacts trying to back into a slot.
But I'm getting there!

Ha... I keep wanting to go larger than my 3200. and I travel solo! I've been saying I'm going to trade to something bigger just about ever since I got it.
The biggest reason I don't (besides losing $20K in depreciation) is because I've about got all of the bugs worked out of it. I don't want to have to start over, especially with some of the issues I keep hearing others have. Oh sure, I've had a few issues... but comparatively, mine's been a pretty decent build.

Yes, I hate it that much. It does not fix where I want to go. If it doesn't fix, what good is it.
Oh, it does fix out here in the desert and sand dunes but.........

Find a buyer and come talk to me.
I recall you are in my area in the winter time.
Mine is a great build but to damn big.
Said I would sell it silly cheap and I have all the good stuff on it. I mean ALL the GOOD STUFF.
Except for the 17.5 wheels and tires. I do have Good Year G 614's only two years old and less than 3000 miles on them.

Yeah, but I want one with a full-size bath/shower... plus I don't like the whole center island thing in the kitchen. That's another reason too... Voltage doesn't really make a floorplan that I'm in love with.
I love the bedroom layout in my 3200. I will NOT have a rig with the head of my bed in the slide. Just a personal preference. The bedroom on 3895 is pretty close, but they took away the 3 large drawers between the 2 wardrobe closets, and I don't wanna lose the storage there.
I'm not a big fan of the fireplace units, but it's not a killer. An island out in the middle of the floor is. Takes up too much space.
etc... etc..
I'm seriously looking at one of the new FULLHOUSE rigs from DRV... the folks who make the Mobile Suites. All high-end stuff, but the rigs are heavy. Plus, not really in love with their floorpans yet either.

Interesting.
When I bought my 3905 my other two choice were.
The 3818 for the 18 foot garage but decided against that because I would be packing too much stuff in the garage.
The 3200 (yours) but the garage was too small. And it is.
My bedroom and yours are the same, as is the bathroom.
Funny how people are. I look at the trailer with the large showers and wonder why would I want that big ole shower.
I don't see the center island taking up much room. Agreed, you can't get to the refrigerator (bottom section) with out opening the slide but that does not bother me.
I am not trying to sell a trailer here. I don't need the money or the trailer.
I will use it again next winter out in the desert and the dunes. I just love going to the mountains in the summer time and this thing does not fit where I want to go.
But someone looking for a toyhauler with a 14 foot garage, solar, four batteries, 2000 watt inverter, all LED lighting, Dishnetwork Traveler Dish and Dual Tuner VIP 722 DVR, Catalytic Heating, Hidden Safe, extra window awnings, Tricked out LED lighting everywhere else and more I can't think of right now. Someone would love this unit.
Good luck finding one with a floor plan you love. It is difficult.
Arlan

We love our 3905 !!! But we too are going to sell it too! Not because of the size ! My wife and I really like the layout of the 3800 cuz it's just the two of us now. Also I still get my 14 ft garage and gain the half bath too!!!!! We also are thinking about the full body paint . But my wife thinks it will be much hotter inside because of the darker colors? Anyone with full body paint think this is true?

I have full body paint - the only time I notice the heat is when it is sitting at home with no AC on - 96 inside yesterday when I checked when it was 91 outside. When we camp the three AC units perform very well. I will say that this camper was an upgrade from a 34 foot unit with one AC, so this alone was a vast improvement in comfort.

Very good comments Arlan. Indeed it really is a matter of taking your time and finding a floor plan that really meets ones needs and desires.
I like our 3800 for
the 14ft garage
the two recliners and a dinette with two benches
the big 'ol shower in the bathroom
the kitchen not being a slide.
the walk around bed
the nightstands on each side of the bed
and a few more. But these were the big items. We spent four years searching to find the Toyhauler that suit us the best.
Had a bumper pull Jayco T29A toyhauler that was a great learning RV, both on how to do things, and what we really wanted.
Wish you the best in finding your next one!!!

You know, I thought the fireplace in our Voltage was kinda hokey, but Mama turns it on in the morning, it has a blower, so it actually warms the living area...and doesn't use propane doing it. Kinda nice when we're in an RV park!

I agree Pirate. It takes the chill out of the living/kitchen area. Have used it quite a few times.
