Angry Lippert Components leveling jack leak

Well, while removing tires that need replacing...I was using the Lippert system to raise one side and then the other to get the wheels off.

Finished. Then came back and the center jack on the Driver's side is leaking from around where the jack cylinder rod comes out of the body. Looking...its right where the seal is.

So I read several Google posts on the issue, downloaded the Lippert instructions for replacing the seat. And I'm just not interested in trying that one!!

So does anyone know of a shop that repairs these jacks? Looks like Lippert just sells you a new one. I'll probably wind up doing that...but would be nice to get this one repaired and have it for a spare.

Thanks,

Pirate

Stop by a heavy construction company or the local tractor sales or the Cat dealership and ask them where the get their hydraulics repaired.

Any hydraulic shop will handle that repair. Call a local tractor shop like John Deere and ask them if they can do it or where they send their cylinders. Repair cost should be pretty reasonable vs. a new one.

Since you were able to find repair proceedures, did you notice if they had different part numbers for the different cylinder locations? The cylinders might have differences such as length of extension, if so, I don't think I would pack rat a heavy cylinder that would only work in one location. I would repair the seal and reinstall it. Much cheaper.

I need to figure out the rating of the cylinder so I can get the correct parts.

Yes, there is a good hydraulics shop about 40 miles from home. Have used them before.

I can print out directions and take them along.

Thanks,
