Installing Disc Brakes

I am getting ready to install electric over hydraulic disc brakes on my 2013 3200 and was looking for idea's from people who may have already done it.
Where is a good place to mount the hydraulic actuator, how did you run the wiring ect.
I got the Kodiak integrated disc hubs, Kodiak brake line kit and Dexter 1600 psi actuator.
Any tips or idea's greatly appreciated.

I had my TT in for a quick hitch service and asked them about putting disc brakes. He said since you have the Ford factory brake controller it will cause a problem with the internal "computer" electronics. Not sure how this will be for you and controller.

I believe he didn't have a clue. On the Ford controller you can select either electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. The electric over hydraulic brakes is what the disc brakes would be. there should not be any issue.

Got the disc brakes on and working. Everything was pretty straight forward. The hardest part was deciding how to route all the hydraulic lines and wiring for the actuator.
The discs brakes work fantastic. Much better than the drums that made stopping scary.
Everything works fine with the factory controller in my 2014 Ram.

Hey 4wlow, Any chance of taking a look at your installation some time. I'm just up the road a bit, Marticville Rd near Penn Grant... Been thinking of doing the conversion too.

Sure! I will p.m. You my number. It was money well spent. I did it for $1500. Really only was $1000 out of pocket because the drum brakes all needed to be replaced anyway. They did not last very long and I was always adjusting them.

Yep, just replaced mine this past October when I got it inspected. 400 bucks in parts and labor and since it was already jacked up and they had the parts in house, I had them do it. I only got two years out of them and they were gone.
