Hydraulic Jack Reservoir

I have a 2014 Voltage Epic 3800 with the Lippert self leveling, six jack, hydraulic system.

With the jacks down and the truck unhooked, there is about 2" of fluid in the reservoir.

Stuffing myself in the compartment full of batteries, tire locks, hoses, etc. I see the "Fill Line" is about 2 inches from the top of the reservoir.

Hooked up yesterday and find with all the jacks fully retracted the reservoir is just a half full.

Should it be at the "Fill Line"?

What is the fluid for the system? Yeah, we're parked a few miles North of Moat, UT, our reservation at the KOA isn't until tomorrow, its pouring rain... and I'm lazy and don't want to go looking for the box of brochures for the trailer... so I'm asking.

ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid)(Dextron) With jacks retracted should be up to or close to fill line.

Had the same issue. Actually hyper-extended the jacks. Drained almost all the fluid out of the tank. Added 3 quarts. Ran a bit funky till the air worked it's way out I'm guessing, but after two or three uses, it's fine.
