HappiJac Bed System

I have a question for anyone who has a HappiJac bed system.

Our Rubicon has a queen top bunk and a couch/queen bottom bunk.

I want DH to remove the one section of the lower bed and push the couch part toward the rear of the TH. Has anyone done this? I think we can move the couch about 20-24" to the rear BUT we will have to drill holes into the side bed rails......anyone see any issues with this????

Our couch goes from side to side vs. the ones I've seen that are couches/benches going from rear toward front.

Hope my description makes sense!

MHO If you move it back you won't be able to make couch onto a bed.

It would still make up into a twin bed.....bottom and queen bed top!

I don't see any issues with this. As long as the integrity of the structure is maintained, and you have the room you want, then go for it. It's a mechanical thing, subject to the will of you, the mechanic. You would have the room you want, and quite the custom job to boot.

Thanks VoltageGuy...that is what I was thinking, I did put a call into HappiJac, hopefully they will call back today....going away for a few days next week and trying to get soooo many things done... TH was at dealer for 6 weeks and still a page of warranty issues to deal with! BUT that put us behind the "8 ball" with the mods we wanted to do!
