Can't do that Traveler, the last time it moved out and stuck...it spit the H-column. Its really undamaged from hitting the highway at 60MPH. And I've removed the drive tube and the top gear.
Did a lengthy chat with Anthony at Lippert, got three documents that are some help.
But I think...the real issue is that the slide is not really supported at the forward end. Lippert says their system of slide drive should bear no weight. So the trailer itself has to have the structure in place to hold the slide level as it moves in and out. Ours hasn't done that since the day we got it. And a month at the dealer...said all was fine. Interesting. Rear top and bottom go all the way in. Front top goes all the way in. Front bottom has always been an inch out, now about 3 inches out and finally about 20 inches out.
So somewhere the interior of the slide at the front and probably towards the center is not being supported. So the interior of the slide starts to drag and tilt...and the slide drive doesn't do its job.
Over time, as the slide was used, the screws holding the H-column in have begun being pulled out from about a third of the down from the top, and all the way to the bottom. So another search for where its dragging at the bottom and the drive motor is shoving the how drive system out at the bottom.
So learned a lot in the chat on Friday and will share more as time goes on. Gotta have this thing ready to head out mid-December!!!
