Gasoline tank removal?

Anyone had to remove their gasoline tank on their VOLTAGE? I’m having issues with my generator and think this is my next step. Need to clean tank and remove old gas.
Thanks
Roger P.

There are other things you can do before dropping the tank. Filter, pump, electronics, carb and hoses. Check those first or tell us what the generator is doing/not doing.

Not sure what your symptoms are, but I actually put a second fuel pump back there wired to the one on the generator. Too far for that little pump to pull fuel. No problems since.

I like it! Where did you mount the 2nd pump and what kind did you install? Also where did you pull power from for the 2nd pump? Roger P.

I got same pump that is one the generator and mounted it to the frame rail next to the tank. I ran a wire from the existing pump back there. You'll find a pvc pipe is mounted thru holes in your frame that runs from the generator housing to just forward of the tank. The fuel lines are in that tube as well. Just having one pump up front was collapsing the fuel hose with its suction. I installed better gas line while I was at it and pulled the hose and wire thru as one (taped together) by taping the new stuff to the old hose and pull old out while dragging new in. An electricians fish works good too

Exactly same thing I did works great and no more issues with fuel getting to the genny.

Forgot I have a couple photos. First one is the pump mounted to the frame next to the tank. Second is with the generator removed so you get an idea where the fuel hoses and wires enter that PVC pipe to go the rear of the coach. Hope this helpsClick image for larger version
