gas piston door openers

Got our 2014 Voltage Epic III 3800 on May 7th. Left for Moab, Utah on the 10th. Whew!

While working with the trailer and checking things out...

I find that the "wet cabinet" door on the drivers side is the only lockable door that does not have a gas piston to hold it open.

Is there one missing? What does your Voltage Toyhauler have?

Thanks,

Pirate

Doesn't that door swing to the side? Why would you need one? The other compartments swing up correct??? Just asking?

I will be putting one on mine - I don't like how it swings in a wind and smacks against my paint job... I will also put one on the outdoor fridge access door for the same reason...

None on my door and I don't miss it as that door is always shut unless I'm connecting or need something out of that end of the basement.

I have considered putting something on the side as a bumper for the door. When the wind catches mine, it smacks the door on the amber marker light. I like the full swing of the door so I haven't considered adding anything that would restrict it.

One of those door holder things would work. I took my gas shock off the entrance door because the wind was 'working' the door frame and causing the frame to loosen.

I put a door holder on it so now it stands back against the side wall and now I can see around it. This will work for that compartment door too, and cheap.

Interesting thoughts.

I guess I was interested in one for use when moving things around in the pass through basement, getting the electrical cord out and hooked up an put away, getting the front black water tank flushed, and searching for the little dripping leak behind the panel covering all the plumbing and wiring.

Perhaps on our first outing the door was open more than expected.

Another question, has anyone installed a Glendenning Cable Master for electrically managing the huge cumbersome electric cable?

Thanks for your input,

Pirate

I just installed a hold open latch on the side of the trailer, and when I'm in there it holds it against the side of the trailer. No wind blown door to mess with, and it doesn't stick out in the way.
