Garage Couch/Bed design?

Does anyone know the purpose of the 2 rectangular cushions that mount between the couches? I found these in my V3600 and am confusion about their purpose and functionality. Are they intended to make a bed? or just a place to store table? or possibly provide more seating in garage? It seems strange and was hoping someone could shed light on this for me? See attached pic.....

I don't see a picture. So to be clear, you're talking about the lower bunk in the garage? If so then the answer is yes to all of your questions.
