Extra protection on tail gate

Just wondering if anyone has added extra protection on the tailgate ramp. Those three rubber donuts sure don't look like they will protect the tailgate end very well. Being out here in the desert we have lots of sand & rocks to deal with.
Just wonder if any have added extra donuts.

I drop the ramp on the driveway, no issues. We end up on sand a lot in FL. If I remember, I put a board under the end. If not, just have to bang the sand out of the donuts. No scratches or damage to the door.

I have 4 of the rubber donuts on mine. I also live in the desert and have been out a number of times with out incident. I might not drive to an area that is so rocky I worry about my ramp. I would be more worried about my truck and trailer tires.

Anyway, I have a set of leveling pads that I would put under them if needed. I have been a couple of places that when I dropped the ramp either one side was in a low spot or a high spot and used the leveling pads to shim up and not tweak my ramp.
