E-track

I'm thinking about mounting some E-track in my garage. Tired of not having tie-downs where I need them. Have any of you done this?

I don't have e-track in the Voltage but we have a goose neck motorcycle trailer that hauls 6 big bikes and it has e-track. A rail on each side and one down the center, it works awsome. The rails are inset into the floor and are flush. We use Condor chocks bolted to the floor, with the e-track you just snap in the tie down ring and strap the bike.

I have it in my smaller enclosed trailer and I love it. You can buy lots of pre-made clips to support straps or chain or bungees, almost anything you can imagine. One thing to consider. It's only as strong as what it is fastened to. The best installation is along a frame member so your wooden floor isn't doing all the work. The installation in my trailer (not my work) only catches the frame every couple of feet and I can see the floor (metal in my case) bow up when I tweak the hold downs tight on cargo loads. Of course with our toys, down ties are usually not the way to go. Layout your Etrack to accommodate a front to back "spring" tie and let the weight of the machine hold itself on the floor.
Good luck, your gonna love it!

I have a 22ft enclosed trailer with 3 rows of E-track flush mounted in the floor. That's what gave me the idea. It's the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to having plenty of tie down points. Of course it won't be flush mounted in the camper but that'll be alright. Instead of running it front to back, I'm thinking of running 2 pieces side to side. One in the very front of the garage and one across the back somewhere on the dovetail. That way it shouldn't be as bad of a trip hazard since most of the floor will still be smooth and it will also give me good anchor points across the frame.

I've had them in my last two THs. I have a section along each wall and one in the center...carryover from my loadmasters days. Once we get bikes unloaded I roll out carpet that covers the whole floor. So far no tripping problems. Never had the nerve to use the factory tied owns!
