Drowning this morning
Toilet water stuck on
Got up this morning the bedroom was soaked as well bathroom and hall. My wife got up in the middle of the night used the toilet and apparently water valve didn't completely close. Got up at 6am to a wreck. Lucky Walmart was open purchased a rug shampooer and have been working out. Have fans going and lucky we are San Jose California where temps are in the 90's. No other problems observed yet. New toilet tomorrow. Yikes. Carpet is finally dry. Yay

Bill, I had the same trouble over the weekend, I found that the ball in the toilet didn't close all the way, which let the water slowly run all night, Fill the tank, and then overflow…..

Yeah I believe that's what happened. Thank god for rug shampooer everything's seems fine after two days. Was going to buy a new toilet today but camping world prices are very high will order a new one when I return home next week

Adventurerv.net has the dometic 310 on sale for around $107. Good toilet. Put one in my Dad's 5er last year.

Rebuild kits are cheap. A new valve and rebuild kit is a lot cheaper than replacing the whole enchilada

If memory is correct I think I bought the rebuild kit from Amazon. It has the ball and drive lever and new gaskets. I didn't replace the valve but I bet you can find one there.

I knew mine was a Thetford because of the paperwork that came with the hauler. I didn't know what model or flavor it was so I went to the Thetford website and looked at the pictures of the models.
RV crappers are like automobiles, all the same bones but with different fluff.

It's my practice not to flush the thing at night at bedtime (unless I have too), or when I leave because of the overflow problem.
I think the valve gets held open from build up on the gasket preventing the ball from closing totally.
FYI, if you decide to rebuild it use a magic marker on the rear of the toilet to mark where the two pieces align. It'll make it easier when you put it back together. Just be sure the top and bottom are centered on the gasket. You can make minor adjustments after it's bolted to the floor, just have to loosen the bolts that hold the pieces together to get them smack in the middle.
Flush it and slowly release the pedal to ensure the ball closes all the way. Then all you have to do is keep your fingers crossed for the next several years.

Read a lot about thetford lots of problems. I can get new toilet for between $107 310 dometic or 150 for $320. Great reviews. We use are unit a bunch hate flooding foe some reason. Again appreciate!! Your info!!Bill
