I am just getting ready to pull mine out for the season. I would imagine my tongue weight will decrease with most of the weight behind the axles. I am going to purchase a spare and i noticed the factory mounting location when i bought it. I still need to get my sewage line holder hooked up. Lots of small things to do.

I am curious what you guys come up for tongue weight.

I weighed mine new on the way home from the dealer empty but with a full tank of water and tongue weight was 1400# with WDH. And now 1550# with trailer fully loaded with cargo and WDH......

That's the exact reason I aired on the cautious side when I got my eaqualizer hitch. I opted to get the 1400 tongue weight setup just in case it went heavier I was safe but also safe with it empty and the tongue weight pushing up around 1300 or 1400. They could have laid them out a little better for weight but i think they were hoping everyone would use the 2000lbs max capacity in the cargo area.

Casper, could you check to see if your led lights flicker when on battery only and running the water pump? I am trying to figure out if it's the lights or something else...

Thanks

Yes. The snow is gone and everything is muddy lol. Camper is here. Just mounted a TV. Wife has bought a **** load of things for inside. I did notice there is a spare tire carrier underneath and up front under stoarage compartment. We have been slowly taking items out of our KZ 17' toyhauler. Can't wait to camp.

Congrats! On the front spare tire carrier. I had to drill a hole in the lower siding so the the hand crank could be used. If you don't want to do that you could use a ratchet. I used a metal plug when not in use. I will send a pic if you want.

I mounted my spare on the factory winch for our first trip and when we got back the spare was loose enough to move around by hand. I would recommend checking it frequently till your happy it will stay tight.

Good to know about the lights. I guess I will have to do some more looking to see what my problem is...

I decided to move the spare tire back to rear of the trailer where I installed the BAL tire rack and I am using the factory spare tire winch to store my multi position ladder

For your info my tongue weight was 1550lbs loaded with one bike in the garage. You may want to check your tongue weight before buying your WDH. I had to upgrade.

Since my big jack and tools will be in the bed of the truck, the spare will also be there. Side of camper has a hole to access the crank spindle. Same design as most trucks, and the spare tire carrier will only give you a headache when you need the tire.

I guess they just forgot to drill the hole on mine.

I live a few miles from a commercial scale. I go in when they are closed and weigh my truck loaded without trailer to get front and rear axle weight. Then I go back with my loaded trailer and reweigh and calculate the differences...

That will be cool. You will want to have all your tools loaded in your truck and your trailer loaded they way your going to travel...I don't carry much fresh water about 15 gallons or so. Unless I know I am going to be dry camping...

They must have built your trailer on a Friday. I Mine also has a hole for the spare and my lights don't flicker. Great idea to mount the ladder down there though. I'm going to post some pictures of our first camping trip last weekend. We really put the heated underbelly to the test.

Here is a picture of my stabilizer jacks in the stock location and then do the spot I moved them for better ground clearance. Also notice the hole for the spare.

Edit: Let me see if I can get the pictures bigger. Not sure how to do them on here other than making them a thumbnail. Hopefully you can see them.
