Congrats on the 2nd AC I could have used an extra one. I just spent 5 days in SE Oregon. It was 100 each day. My solo AC was OK but a second would have been great.

I think adding the 2nd awning was a great help. We stay in the same site each time and have had a hard time keeping the garage cool. The 2nd awning made it comfortable.

That said since my unit is a 30 amp unit I will add a portable 2nd AC for the garage. I will plug it into the power pedestal separately and not the trailer. I had one in a previous Toy Hauler and it worked great.

The cost. The awning was custom order so there was not deal on the awning. It was right around $1400 . I did get a deal on 40% off installation which was about $550 for a total of $1950. It worked great on this trip and Camping World did a great job on the install.

Let me just add the only think I have to watch out for is that the garage door cant be pinned open when the awning is being closed or opened or it will hit the door. Just remember that and you will be fine.

I added Gladiator storage bags a while ago

But I needed a place to store my Tour Pak when It was not on the bike. so I made a frame around the Gladiator bags bolted through the floor and too the wall.

But it was kind of messy.

So I enclosed the frame to make it look more like a cabinet.

I had some material left over so I made a matching small cabinet in the area next to the door. I'm going to use it as a coffee bar for the garage. I'm not a cabinet maker by any means but I got the tools and I can screw wood together.

That looks amazing. I never heard of Gladiator storage bags but I think you just solved my dirty clothes basket issues.

You sound like me (and probably most folks here) when building or adding something to the RV. Never satisfied and just gotta keep going.

Thanks for the tip!

If your looking for a good laundry hamper go to page 10 of this thread and scroll down to where I put drawers under the bed. It was somebody elses great Idea but works great for a laundry hamper.

Its a area that was hard to access anyway and after putting on a mattress topper my wife could not even access it.

I would love to be able to use that space but right now it's being used for fishing gear (waders, boots, fly rods, etc) and swimming stuff (noodles, beach towels, etc)--Gosh, I wish I was there now!

Larger refrigerator?

Our 2018 300TQ was step one in my retirement plan for my husband and I. The are a few mods we'd like to make, but more fridge space is a priority. I'm assuming we have a Norcold 7 cu ft now and I'm wondering if anyone has sized up to a 10 or 12 cu ft residential. The price difference between RV and residential is substantial and hubby can easily install an inverter to run it on battery while traveling. I've searched the forums with no success.

If you decide to go residential, stay away from French door types, they are notorious for failing, I know, I have had two of them fail in a 6 year span. There are 12v 10 CuFt ones out there now that are pretty good.

Are you sure want to go residential. Which means you will have to be plugged in or on generator all the time.

Have you thought about putting a second refrigerator in the garage area. You could plug in a small residential Refrigerator and would have to secure it to the floor.

I think they mean residential size. Which in the bigger RVs the residential size fridges are 12volt.

Honestly I just mean a fridge that will fit in the space where the 7 cu ft is, just taller so we have more room. I don't know if my plan will work, but I do like the solution of putting one in the garage if it doesn't. We've already removed the jack knife sofas since they are useless as beds and just use the garage as storage. If we need sleeping space we have an air mattress since the upper bunk doesn't work for small children. We have one that would jump out lol.

Hearing Everchill is pretty reliable. Hearing Furrion is not, which is what is in mine, will see.

Did the two metal ramp support legs come with the trailer? Slide the support legs in the ramp brackets, fold out the ramp. You end up with a 9+ foot ramp.

I had Camping World install a Solera Slide Topper on my Slideout. They did a pretty good job on the install in less than two hours.

For some reason the Black Solera slide topper was on sale for $280, $30 less than the white one.
with cost plus labor and materials it was around $450

CW does have good prices on those toppers. Saved over $1000 by getting the 4 I needed for my trailer. They did send me one wrong one by mistake but took care of it quickly.

Just finished 500 watt Solar Install with 2000 watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter on my 2017 300tq.

Works pretty good in the driveway should come in handy dry camping this summer.
