Co2 alarm

We purchased a new toy hauler June 2014 and have tried to use the generator three different times and every time the co2 alarm goes off the first hour or two. We have returned it to campers world but they can not find any leaks. Any suggestions on what to do?

Did they replace the CO detector, and did the problem happen again?

I'll tell you a few things to check based on when I installed a Onan 5500 off eBay in a TH with the generator prep package. Try to find the Onan Service / Installation manual in your paperwork or download.

First the obvious... there are very specific clearances required of the exhaust pipe. ie so far down and so far out. You may consider adding a Genturi???

Second... after installation there is a test to run of the air circulation that cools the motor to make sure the intake air has at least a certain number of degrees separation from the cooling system exhaust on the underside of the generator. In other words... it is not cycling.

Third... this generator worked great for several months and then it set off my CO2 alarm. I was at a festival parked in a cow pasture on a slope to where I had to lower the front jacks all the way down to get level. This must have blocked the circulation of the air cooling system of the generator and with the exhaust pipe only about 1 foot off the ground in tall grass let the combustion exhaust accumulate. After the alarm went off I raised the front jacks to give the generator plenty of clearance off the ground and didn't have any other alarms.

I hope my experience gives you some ideas of what to look for???
