Carpeted steps

Has anyone removed the carpet on the Voltage interior steps going to the bath and bedroom and replaced it with tile or?

I am looking for ideas on what to do with them...why there is any carpet on the steps and in the hall defies all logic.

Thanks!

I gouged the carpet on the leading edge of my stairs and wanted to replace with the wood plank vinyl but was concerned about how it would install on a curved edge.

I followed this thread on the Heartland forum where it was done with excellent results, see post #17...

Thanks very much....the steps look great.
Is that a drawer in the middle riser?

I believe so...
I've seen several different makes/models with drawers in the stair steps,
I think it's to store the vacuum attachments???

My sub woofer is just tossed in and buried behind the basement wall on the off door side. I'm thinking about trying to move it up under the stairs making some cutout vents in the risers to improve the sound???
