Cable Slide Adjustment

After reading about many of the cable slide issues on here I decided to check mine out and I am a bit perplexed. The pantry slide on my 3970 is a bit strange. When all the way out or all the way in, there is serious slack in the cables that run toward the front of the unit. I stopped it at the halfway point and all of the cables are taught. It runs fine for now, but I am wondering if that is normal?

I downloaded the 18 page Accu-slide manual and it really isn't much help in telling you what right should be except to say that you only need one inch of play when in or out. Before I tighten everything up I was wondering what others had on their slides. My other two slides are adjusted properly.
