Balky Leveler

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue.. My levelers get the job done every time, but i usually have to press and re-press a button to get a jack to fully extend or retract. I should be able to just hold down the button and have the jacks keep moving until I let go, like the awnings and the slides work. It does not matter if i do it from the console on the trailer, or from the remote. Any ideas?

Sounds like a short or loose wire to the controler

Wiring Problem

I agree with the last post. Probably the wiring. Don't overlook the ground side of the circuit. It's the most easily overlooked and usually the problem. The hot side is a single run wire but the ground side is usually a screw or bolt into the frame. If it's corroded, painted, or of course lose, you are not going to get a solid connection. If you have automatic levelers you will probably need to re-set the memory position for level.

I had the same problem with mine. It was a bad circuit breaker on the buss bar near the batteries. Trace to witch breaker works your level system and put a test light on the load side of the breaker and you will see it go out when your panel or remote fails. Anyway that fixed mine.

Thank you all very much! I will check the ground and the breaker too. One thing I had not mentioned is that the Autolevel function works every time that leveling is possible. Does that help narrow it down even more?

Was that relay an individual jack or central? mine seems to do it on all jacks and buttons, some worse than others.

Mine would too on auto but if I did it manually it would stop and I would have to let got of the button and press it again. I just had mine fixed a couple of months ago and it was a relay.

Not sure which one it was but as soon as I told my dealer what it was doing he knew what it was. Mine was doing it on the front two.

Thank you dennis. That sounds like me. was the relay expensive? please let me know the part number if you have it and if it seemed feasible for one to attempt themselves.

I'm sorry I don not have the cost or part number I did not keep the invoice I had it in for some insurance work and I asked them to look at it when they had it in the shop.

Relay or circuit breaker

Found replacement on amazon, auto parts can usually order them also. Was cheap fix and now carry a spare.

Do we know which one is for which jack, or which one may be a master? Mine does this on any jack, using the remote or not, on either extract or retract.
