[QUOTE=Burl;38019]I used these bulbs to convert the entire trailer inside and out. I have had them about 60 days so far and all have worked well.

Burl - for these 1141 bulbs, the listing warns against using them in a 13VDC application saying they will get hot and burn out. Any issues on yours at all?

I did the exact same upgrade to my steps. I went to the automotive section at Wal-Mart and bought a 2 pack of 12" blue LED strips. Simple 2 wire hook up, and stick with double sided 3m tape. They cost a whopping $10

max360- now that you jog my memory, that is exactly where I got mine. In fact, got the idea from this forum (may have been you).

Pirate - sorry. I, like you, get so much crap online for my camper, I have a tough time recalling where I get everything from. The light strip max360 refers to was a perfect fit. Only thing I did additionally was to add some of stick on, zip tie anchors in case the 3M type tape didn't hold - don't ask me where I got the zip tie anchors (LOL - I got them in a bulk pack from Home Depot).

So...neither of you had to have the "electronics" for the LED light strips? Just use the two wires that went to the original under step 12V light?

Thanks,

Pirate

Yup. The coach wire with the stripe was positive or "+" and the no stripe was negative or "-" At least it was on my rig. Just a simple peel and stick on the 3m tape, and I used a heat shrink butt connector to attach the wires together, added a little bit more split loom wire protector, then tucked the slack wire back into the hole of the trailer frame. Zipp zapp done

Pirate - got all interior lights switched over to LED last night - big improvement. Have all bulbs on hand for exterior, but will wait till I pull her out of the bat cave to install those.

Don,

So can you tell me which LED bulbs you used for each fixture?

And where you got them?

Your pic looks like you took it in our Voltage...so you have that info, and I've been so busy on the other projects....the interior lights have fallen by the wayside.

Thanks,

Pirate

Ok Don (and anyone else who’d like to chime in)...

As it’s now been over a year, just curious how your bulbs have held up? Still good, still bright, any flickering?

I replaced all my bulbs with LEDs awhile back with just those off the shelf at CW, and they did ok for awhile. But now, many of them are flickering occasionally... and in some, only half of the elements are lit. As such, I’m looking for bulbs to replace them this winter.

I'd say about 25% of my LEDs have failed one way or the other in the last 2 years but I bought really cheap ones off amazon.

No issues whatsoever for me as far as lights working, failing or flickering.

The only issue I have had is two of the lights I put in the puck lighting kept falling out of the socket when going down the road and would be rolling around inside the fixture glass. Had to tweak the posts of the light ever so little after each trip until I had enough tension on them to hold them in place.

I would like to find a different solution for the exterior clearance lights only because they are a tad too tall and touch the lens of the light, but they do work just fine and are quite bright over the incandescent bulbs they replaced.
