When they have the rear awning off to replace ask them to check out the brackets to see what the screws look like that hold it in. My rear awning got blown off when it was extended a few months back. Basically, the wind blew the awning straight up and it pulled out of the bracket. Luckily the awning was not damaged as we caught it as it was falling and we were able to reinstall it.
The weak point was the lower screws in the bracket allowed it to lift up and then pull off the bracket from the bottom. I ended up drilling a couple of more holes in the brackets and used some slightly bigger diameter screws. I think fault lies with Dutchmen for how they installed the awning brackets and not with the brackets themselves.
It will be a lot easier for you to add a couple of screws now than it would if it falls.
