2016 Voltage propane alarm won't stop!

Our propane detector keeps beeping, but all the propane is turned off. We have it parked in our barn and have taken all propane bottles outside. Anyone know what to do to get it to stop?

It’s probably time for it to be replaced.

LP detectors have an “end-of-life” time frame of about 5 or 6 years. Depending on the brand/model of type you have, there is usually a corresponding flashing yellow light (or something else) that indicates when it’s time to replace.

How do you get the thing out in order to replace it?

The cover should just pop, slide or snap off. When you replace it, the new detector takes around 3-5 minutes to charge up and the light to go green. The rigs 12V batteries have to be connected for this to happen.

I just went through this on our 2017 Voltage 4150 for the same thing and the date on the back of ours was from 2016 so I got an extra year out of it.

Our detector is a different model than what you have pictured but there was a mounting plate screwed into the cupboard and the detector slides up and is held onto the mounting plate by friction/tabs. Just lift up and it slides out of the mount.

I found a cheaper unit than what came with the trailer to replace ours and there is just a 12 volt positive and negative wire behind the mounting plate so I snipped those wires and put male/female connectors on the new detector so if I ever have to replace it again it will be easier on me.

Hate to state the obvious but your rigs batteries were charged right? The alarm will sound if battery voltage drops too low.

I just changed out the same model. Put a small screwdriver in the small slot above to remove the cover. Then unscrew the detector.
