2015 Voltage 3800 Main Slide Issues
Well, maiden voyage for the season, have everything on our checklist checked and ready to go. Wait for the kids to get off the bus, wife to get home from work, and POOF!!!! The main slide going in is making the outside wall bow in, shaking the whole rig, and a GOD AWFUL POPPING noise!!! get the slide thinking it is a broken tooth in the gearbox... NOT stopping us from this camping trip... Got the slide out and in one more time at the campground and got her home... then the demo job getting the facia off the slide to access the cables and motor was a challenge!!! Come to find out, to access the motor and gearbox ALL YOU HAVE TO TAKE OFF is the center solid crown piece!!!! Don't ask how i found this out, but it is held on by just long staples... a couple on each side of the piece going STRAIGHT UP from the bottom, and going STRAIGHT IN towards the outside wall... pull the top back towards the inside of the RV and then the bottom down towards the floor... the staples are about 1 1/2" long and the rest of the facia stays put!!! Also if you leave your slide in about a foot from being fully extended and get yourself on a ladder, you can also adjust the cables WITHOUT removing facia at all. The motor and gearbox is made by Norco Ind. for BAL Accu-Slide which is what we have. The motor is a STANDARD DUTY motor with a gearbox...MOTOR REPAIR KIT #-225007 which includes the motor with the gearbox, MOTOR #- R25074, and GEARBOX #- R25076. I purchased mine from COLAW RV in Missouri, 1-877-548-2125 and talk to Kristina...$76.00 plus tax and shipping... DYERS RV PARTS online also has the gearbox for $110.00 plus shipping... hopes this helps those of us who want to tackle this ourselves.
