Where is the Battery kill switch?

Does anyone know where the Battery Kill switch is in the basement of the 2012 Dutchman Denali 262 RLX? My DH says there has got be one but he hasn't been able to find it. We have just never heard of any big rv not having one for safety issues

someone else was also looking for a battery kill switch in a denali a short while back. I dont think they ever found one. Put on next to the battery and it will totally shut the system down.. the factory cut off,, if u find one, will not shut the entire unit down. it leaves on the smoke detector, propane tester and other minor things which will run your battery dead in a week..

I do not have one on my Denali 5th wheel. I added one next to the batteries because as stated above the batteries would die in about 4 weeks.

soooo I installed a cut off switch today ...
if the switch is off (no connection )
and I was to plug in the shore power .....
would the power inverter / charger be damaged ??
as a side note from an old lesson years ago ... power cut off / disconnect switch installed on negative cable ... as during normal usage positive cables are more likely to corrode .. not the negative cable

Typically the factory installed battery kill switches only disconnect it from the converter along with the lights and a few other circuits. Typically the LP detector and other 'life safety' devices are hardwired directly. In some cases the slides bypass the switch too. There apparently is not a standard in place for this. Disconnect on the batter ground is the way to go. We used to use locking ones on our boats, believe those were Perko or Marinco brands.

The converter shouldn't be damaged while connected to shore power with the battery switch in the off position. Providing the switch is installed at the output side of the battery and not the input coming from the converter.
With the switch in the off position there won't be any 12 volt circuits active so the battery will be (should be) fully charged. The converter's charging circuit will sense this and basically go into idle mode.

With that being said you won't have 12 volts available to the circuits boards that control the refrigerator, furnace, water pump or TV antenna booster or the lighting system in the RV.
