Voltage 3895 roof leak

Hey all.
I am new to this forum. Got a 2014 3895. Had heavy rain two days ago. Today noticed water inside on the bar. It is coming from the drop wood ceiling above the bar that has the pendant lights attached to it. I am assuming it is the AC seal leaking. How the heck do you get to it with that drop circling?

I ask'd that same question because every AC I've ever had bolts from the bottom to secure the AC & tighten the compression seal.

The main AC in a 3895 ( and most other Voltage ) bolt down from the top.

There are some good photos of how the main AC is bolted in post #229 thru #231 in the series starting from post #212 by rcpilot at the end of this thread...

PS Excellent series of post by rcpilot about how to improve the performance of your ACs.

mine leaks as well

I have a v3200 2015 no third a/c option. Last two days with heavy rains had water pouring in at the light fixture and the wood seam on the inside of the trailer. Called the dealer and they said its a known issue and made an appointment. They are pretty far away, but what i really worried about if the ability of the unit to dry out in the roof and insulation after the leak is found and sealed. My inspection revealed no obvious damage to roof or seals you can see. I expect because I do not see any of the heavy white stuff around the base of the a/c units is that they were poorly reinforced with sealant/caulk if any at all. The service guy over the phone said its a little involved, and I got off the phone before nailing him down to whether it means taking the roof apart or what. It was enough water to fill half a small trash can, and the a/c was running both times during rain. It was dry during light rain and when the a/c was not running regardless of tilt. Also the second time it happened in the last 48 hours, I noticed the temperature inside reading on zone 1 was 32 degrees farenheit. It was only 72 deg inside trailer. So I am pretty sure somehow water is pooling inside the unit on top and then traveling down the bolt holes but looking for answers. That last comment about the freezing temp was weird as I thought the thermostat had its temp gauge there at the thermostat. Stressful for the fact that I would like to get it repaired right but fearful of damage done that even when fixed, I left with interior that will buckle and warp and stain.

Thanks hullflyer2. I ended up taking mine back to the dealer. I discovered myself that two of the lag bolts had been stripped. The dealer confirmed and had to seal up the two holes and then drill two more to snug it done. We have had one heavy rain since and it appears to have stopped the leaking. We will see what happens when I am using the AC and rain is occurring at the same time. As far as hidden water damage????

hullflyer2,
Did you get it repaired, yet? Did you find out what the "known issue" is? I got in last night to find a puddle of water in the floor. Water leaking in at the light fixture and the wood seam, just like you described.

Yes I did hullfjyer2. The two front mounting screws on the main AC were stripped from the factory. This would not let the AC unit seal securely. It was repaired under warranty. They had to drill two new holes for the screws. Existing holes were sealed. No more leaks.
Hope this helps!

Get yourself a moisture meter and trace the dampness all the way to the point that you habe dry walls. This is how much of the ceiling and wall panels need to be removed to ensure that the water damaged area is dried out properly.

You now have a mold and mildew incubator and there is plenty of cellulose fiber in the camper, to create a bumper crop of mildew. Unless it is dried out and repaired correctly you will be risking you families health.

Been through that in the house with a pin hole leak in the copper line, before the shut off valve. I don't know exactly how long it had been leaking before it showed up as water damage to the flooring, but when the restoration crew opened up the wall all you could see was a mass of black mildew. Took them three weeks to get it dried out and the mildew cleaned up.
