Problems with Komfort 5th wheel

I have a 2011 3530FBH that I've had way too many problems with. Now I have water damage in the outdoor kitchen that seems to be the result of no seal above the hinge for the door. I've had a tech at the RV dealer look at it and a tech at an independent RV repair garage look at it, and they agree with me. They even looked at the roof and found no leaks.

I have only seen one other Komfort camper and it was a 2012 KM3530 5er - and it had the same water damage in the outdoor kitchen that mine has...and it's only a year old.

I think this is a design flaw that Dutchmen needs to make good on. They've refused to help with mine because it's out of warranty, but there shouldn't be water damage in a 2 year old camper!

So, I'd like to hear from other Komfort owners - especially if you have water damage in the outdoor kitchen. I'll start the lawsuit if I get more people with similar problems.

Think I found the problem...

There is a seam in the top center of the frame of the door. After a heavy rain, I found water coming from that seam. And the same is true of both basement doors.

Anyone else noticed this leakage from the seams?

I am not sure how the outdoor kitchen closes up but IF it is like the basement doors I found a leak on one of our basement doors. We were camped during a driving thunderstorm one night. The next morning I found water on the floor inside the driver side basement door. At first I though it was a leak from the water softener, but on closer exam I found it was from the door. There is lip above the doors and I found that the sealant along the top edge of that lip was not good. A bit of white silicon sealant along there fixed the problem. While I was at it I did the other side and above the door. No leaks since.

I have used windshield sealer on a few occasions with 2 different 5th wheels to seal around windows or any spot where water was found to be seeping in. It has worked 100% to solve my leakage issues.

It really wouldn't hurt if the manufacturer would put the joined ends of the door and window seals at the bottom instead of at the top. I have a basement door seal that smooshes out water each time it's closed because the seal joint is on top and allows water to get inside the seal.

A simple solution to a potential problem could be eleminated if someone in QC had their eyes open. Do they have a QC department, huh?

Exactly! I'm pretty upset at having to pay $2000 to fix water damage as a result of a design flaw. Please email me if you are interested in pursuing this further.
