Paint code

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how to get your paint color off of the vin and who might be able to supply it? I put a ding in my trailer. I've laid the glass, filled it, and primed but my auto body shop can't help me with a color match. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Steve

Paint color won't have anything to do with the VIN, or it is highly unlikely. If you happen to have full body paint, it was done by a contract company off the manufacturers site. Best bet is going to be to find a body shop that can help with the paint color, or find someone else with a similar paint job that happens to have the touch up paint with the color numbers on it.

Which colors do you have? I happen to have all of my touchup bottles supplied by my dealer here by my desk.

Paint Codes

I called my dealer, who then called the shop where they paint all their Voltage's, who then gave me the codes. I have them if you have full paint burgundy and black. Ironically, mine is at the body shop now getting a scratch removed. Body guy wasn't sure if my codes were right, but said not a problem as most paint guys have a program and they scan the surrounding area which automatically matches the paint.

I found a paint code sticker on my 3970 on the entrance door jamb, hinge side. Was not obvious to see, only found while doing some cleaning. May be a place to look for your paint codes.
