China Syndrome

After a failed trade attempt I drove back to pick up the trailer and my wife for relocation to NM. We loaded up and I checked the tire pressure as its been some time since its been on the road and all of the pressures were down so if filled them close to the specs on the tire. We hit the road and after 50 miles heading towards kingman boom! Lost the right rear tire. Approximately 2750 to 3000 miles on the tires. The good news is the spare worked until we got to discount tire in kingman. Bad news is it trashed the skirting and messed up the hydraulic fitting for the automatic landing gear which now leaks fluid. DT was out of GY tires so I ended up with Carlisle F rated tires at a larger size on the factory rims. Anyone know where to get the flashing replaced or repaired? I'll post pics when able.

wow! At what point will Dutchmen be held responsible for the crap they assembled and sold to us. How do we figure out if what we have will implode if we dare to use it? That sucks!

I had to replace my fender. Heres where I got it. You'll have to trim to fit.
Hydraulic line can be made also if need be. Going through the dealer could be a slow process. Good luck.

Speaking of crap, as soon as I remember to pick up a card reader I'll post a few pix I took at a dealer in Tulsa yesterday.

One in particular is a rusty screw holding on a Shiitek track. Not a bid deal to us, we're used to crap but this happened to be on a 2014 Class A Itasca.. Justify a rusy screw on a $300k diesel pusher.

Yes they are and they are Chinese tires to boot.

They have a lot of commercial delivery guys using their tires, any that I have talked with have nothing bad to say about Gladiator tires.

That's bad but not impossible to repair. The fender links have been posted for you and Trekwood RV parts sells decal if you can figure out what you need by the description.

Now for the skirt, I went to a heating and cooling shop and they ordered a 4x8 sheet of white coated aluminum of .030 inches. They sheared it to size and broke it at 90 degrees for me. I think that set me back 90 dollars and two days ship time.
As for making it black I went to a sign shop and they ordered me a 24"x80" piece of black vinyl. Two days shipping and 35 dollars. They will stick in for you for a small price I'm sure.

I have pix here of before and after of the skirt I repaired last month on my 3800.

I'm pretty sure a dealer can't compete with these prices and shipping times. Plus, this is something you can do yourself with minimum tools and sweat.

I replaced some damage from a fight with a bollard here are the pictures on Pintrest.
Trailer on Pinterest
From your picture there is some support bracket behind the tin. It might need to be remade. Now relax and roast some Chile. New Mexico that is.

Forgive my ignorance but since I have not technically tore into the skirting and it seems like 4x8 doesn't replace the entire piece so how or where would it merge into the rest of the skirt piece? thanks.

You have a different unit. Therfore your going to have to do some measuring and get what you need. The fender link I posted above was for a Voltage.. or other trailer using the same type fender. Yours is different sorry bout that, I should have looked at your signature.

The 8 foot length is all I needed, you can get the skirting material longer. The factory piece for my Voltage comes out at 12 foot, crated and truck shipped for 85 bucks, shipping only. I didn't need that much nor did I want to pay that much so I went what I only needed. I actually only used 36x74 inches out of the 8 foot piece.

Feel bad for you but when my "G" rated American Made 16" tire blew on my Teton it caused over $4,000 worth of damage. That was the eighth one so I went to 17.5. No more tire problems. I should have done it way sooner.

I did a quick look tonight and noticed a seam right where the furnace sits so I am guessing its split at that point, Thanks for tips and it looks like the hardest part will be paint matching and the graphics.
