But, it's right there in the brochure!

The Infinity brochure has a picture of the suspension showing shock absorbers with words advertising how smooth and stable the unit will tow with shocks.

My shocks were installed incorrectly. Has to do with the construction of the frame and no room for shocks so "cut-outs" were made, in the wrong places. So, I filed a warranty claim and Dutchmen says, "we don't install shocks...". Claim denied.

Uo-o-o-o, wrong answer.

Very interesting. I noticed that the rubber grommets on my shocks had separated. I decided to just replace all four shocks at the same time instead of just replacing the grommets. I went with a better made shock.

My mechanic shop thought it was strange how the factory had made "cut outs" in the frame to mount the shocks.

Keep us posted.

My shocks have no markings or placard to give me a manufacturer or model number. Presuming that our shocks are the same, what did you buy?

My shop just measured the end studs, calapsed length, extended length, and piston diameter. I'm going to guess that my shop installed a NAPA shock made by Monroe.

It would have been useless to contact the "Dutch Idiots" at the factory. They don't even know what they put on their campers for parts when building them. Didn't surprise me that they said they, "never installed shocks on the Infinity".

I had the shocks replaced last year at this time. Since then, I've been to Florida and back. I've been through Maine and NH camping throughout this past Summer and into the Fall. The shocks and grommets are doing very well. I've also, recently changed all four tires from the Akuret "E" Rated to "G" rated 14 ply tires.

Dave:

Any chance you might have an invoice with the Monroe shock part number of model number? My timing for the replacement is critical as the wife and I will literally be waiting in the lounge for the repair as we will be en route from Wisconsin to Oklahoma. I'm hoping to drop off the Infinity with shocks in hand. Thanks in advance.

I don't have that info. Like I said, my mechanic shop just matched the length and width. My invoice from them would just read 4 shocks & the labor. They were a common shock with the NAPA store they deal with. Where ever your taking your coach to should be able to do it the same way.

I'll be surprised if my shop has that info a year later. I'll check the shocks today to see if there's a stamped number present.

Question; I think Lippert makes the frame for Dutchman. Have you contacted Lippert? Just my thoughts.

Just checked the shocks under the rig. Part # is 555001. Looks like it's a Monroe/NAPA part number.

Hope this helps.

Lippert does make the frame, their "Colorado" model, but when contacted about the shocks they say, "Not us." I have shock absorbers installed by gnomes in the dark-of-night.
