Bunkhouse

Hey everyone, the wife and I currently own a 2016 v3800. We bought it for the large garage and bunk for the kids. We are looking to get a bunkhouse next so if anyone as any suggestions about who makes the largest and best we would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Len

need some information, what price range, how big, what are you using as TV? fifth or TT, new or used? the more info you provide the better the response you'll get, but as BarryD said lots of opinion and information on here.

We have been looking at spacecraft manufacturing, you can order a fifth wheel up to 51ft or a semi up to 57 with residential appliances in just about any layout you want. Any feed back on this idea?

Those are very big numbers. Up to 57 ft! you gonna spend a pretty penny no doubt, but where do you want to go camping? when you get in rigs that big you have a hard time finding places to accpet them. I had a friend in SoCal who was getting rid of his 42 ft fifth for that very reason. hard to find anywhere to camp. Not saying it can't be done but you really have to plan trips around who will accept a rig of that size versus going where there are things you want to see/do.

Have no opinion on the rigs you mentioned, simply because they are way outside my price and max length. maybe someone else might have some input for you. Best of luck and make sure you post pics when you buy the new beast.

Wow. Unless you are staying at newer and more top of the line campgrounds, good luck finding a site to take a 57' unit, let alone having space to back in. I'm 44' after I disconnect; around 63' hooked up, and pretty good at parking and I struggle at many sites. Think long and hard about giving up some "residential" creature comforts for size. Maybe a Class A would work better for you? Just a thought.

Yea that's what's been holding us back because a lot of campgrounds can't handle campers that size. Bu on the other hand we don't camp we full time because of my job, we may be in one spot 6 months or two years. And we have thought about a class A but have heard horror stories.

What horror stories? Class A units are nice rigs, like anything else you have some better than others, but a little research can help figure that out.

A410, I ran into a 57ft Trailer in Texas, and he said that it cost him over 350K to build, it had 7 Slides and weighted 37K and held 8K in Cargo, He would pick his spots a year ahead? The TV was also big, so you have to have big bucks, just to run it? I like the Class A bus types with 2 bathrooms, bunkbeds, and I would also get a Double Deck Trailer for the spare car and some toys....Good Luck, as to my 43ft Toy Hauler, I haven't found any trouble finding spots from CA to Texas, but I check every spot before we good there.....

I also forgot to mention, that 57ft was well build and had great items inside and out, you can build it anyway you want, more bedrooms, bathrooms etc.

Gw3800rlb

We currently have a Kodiak 240BHSL, it's a bumper pull and would be too small for you. We also were considering going larger last year and did a TON of research on bunk house 5th wheels. If we had pulled the trigger we were going to go with the Heartland GW3800RLB. Certainly worth a look for you. Good luck.
