Is your camper's battery hooked up and charged? That's where the break-away switch would get it's power from.

Check with a test light if when you have the pin pulled you have power in & out on the wires.

I have a 2017 Voltage 3605. My brake away pin got pulled and the switch and the wires started smoking . I disconnected the battery and replaced the switch, I pulled the pin on the new one to make sure I had 12 volts coming out of the switch , after a few seconds the new switch started smoking, I replaced the pin and the switch cooled down. Is anyone else having the same problem. Thanks Denny

just a thought that the wire is shorted somewhere between the switch and the brakes

That's my though also , The switch only transfers 12 volts from the battery to the brakes and should not get hot and start smoking . I have an appointment with the Dealer. Thanks Denny

Easiest way to check is with a magnetic compass, if there is power the compass needle will move when you get close to the hub assy..
If it does not move then there is no power.
