What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package"?
We will be "acquiring" a 2012 Dutchmen Denali 287re. The unit comes with a "Mountian Package". I have been all over the Denali website but cant find anything on there sire that actually list what's in the "Mountian Package. Also, on all the other RV dealership sites that have this particular 287re Denali, it shows the trailer with black leather swivel rockers. Our dealer is having us pay extra for these rockers, an "upgrade" from the recliners it comes with standard. I cannot find what the "standard" rockers are either. These "Packages" sure are confusing. I just feel like we are being charged for some things that are already included in one of these "packages". Anyone out there familiar with this? Thanks.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
I just bought one with the All-weather Package. No idea truthfully what are in all of the different packages but I doubt you are being over-charged due to package double-dipping. At the end of the day, they want to put the best price possible out there as they know when it comes to RV's most people do a fair bit of shopping around. Compare the price of the trailer you want against the other manufacturer's similar models and if yours is way more, be concerned. If about right, you know you're good. I paid about $3000 more for my 311BH than any other 30'+ bunkhouse trailer out there but it also had way more features so I feel like I got good value for my money. Some of the other manufacturers didn't even offer as options many of the features the Denali had standard.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
Reason I ask is I ordered the unit with some "extras". One of them was a roof ladder. Later, after getting home, I tried finding what was included in the packages the RV comes with. On another RV site, someone said the Mountain Package (my RV already comes with this package) includes this ladder. Just want to make sure I'm not paying for something that is already included.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
Have you tried to download the Denali brochure? I too have the mountain package, and from memory....comparing it to another one like ours I saw without it...
Central vac
Keyless entry
Deluxe flush fit dark tinted windows frameless
Upgraded entrance door
Powered tongue jack
Hardwood refrig front
Skylight in the kitchen
Night shades
Slam latch baggage doors
Rear bike carry rack
Tv in the master
Larger refrig
Exterior speakers and TV mount
All "special" packages change from month to month and region to region, so YMMV........

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
So if that's what's in the Mountian Package that it comes with anyways, why did they try to sell us the dirt devel central vac for $250 and the cargo rack for $375. It will be interesting to see what they say about that when it shows up from the factory for us to sign for and pick up. This is what makes me wonder about the black leather swivel rockers that they charged us $950 additional for compared to the "standard" rockers it "comes with". I can't find a single picture of those rockers in any photo of this trailer on any dealer website or mention of that "option" either.

Well, as stated above.....packages and what's included change from dealer to dealer and in various regions......but my Mountain package included, at no extra cost, the items you mention.
TT's come with the equivalent of a car's window sticker.....be sure to ask to see it.
Do you have another dealer in your area that you could shop against? At first blush it sounds like they are doubling up on you, sorry to say!

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
It's got to be about 16 feet (??)..if not longer...it goes from near the back of the trailer to near the bedroom window....I'll have to measure ours in the morning.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
So I called Denali Manufacturing yesterday and asked them this exact question, "what is in the Mointain Package". They told me that they no longer offer this package with the new orders. They only had it during this past winter. they also no longer build them with keyless entry because of too many problems with that system.

Bear.....you are right....ours is a 289RK....so I'd have to go look up the awning length on his 287RE.....sorry for the misstatement.

Not surprised. Mine wasn't working the day I picked up the unit. We'll see how long it works when they install the new one.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
I am picking up my 289RK next Monday. I have never had a TT with a large slide, does it make sense to support the slide when camping so as to reduce the wear and tear on the rack and pinion.

Not necessary to do that. The slides are meant to be out and supported by the rest of the structure of the TT.......I think you'd do more harm than good if you tried to support them, as they are rock solid when fully extended. The slide is also supported by being tight up against the inside wall as well.
The only thing that you need to avoid is putting the slide in and out when the trailer is not close to level......it's all in the owner's manual too.....

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
Do not place supports under the slide room. The slide room is designed to be self supporting. If you place supports under the slide room, it will tend to raise the slide if there is any trailer movement or settling. If this happens, the slide room seals might leak during a rain storm.

Re: What's included in the Dutchmen Denali "Mountain Package
Interesting package. There is this good site that will show you all the dealers as part of your area and the vehicles they sell. I came across my new Ford on that site. I was able to go to the dealership in Spokane and get the car. I know Ford is always worth it for dependability alone. Will you be looking to sell or purchase a used or new Ford Econoline?
